  1. Subis just don't like the oiled filters, it slowly kills the AFM (mine was stuffed after the previous owner put a K&N panel filter in. Replaced it with a dry foam pod filter). I don't think BMWs are as delicate, but certainly sucking up water is never good!
  2. It is sooo tempting! Wish I wasn't tied up with pursuing a career right now!!
  3. Generally you bring the vehicle to them, or arrange for the seller to take it in. On site inspections are less likely to pick up on a few things, as it is difficult to get a good look under the vehicle without a hoist or pit. As for cost, I've heard before it can range from between $80 to just under $200, and in most cases I'd hazard a guess that you get what you pay for.
  4. He has great taste. Both in cars and energy drinks.
  5. 2 seconds is a long time in a 0-100 time... The difference between 5 and 7 for example, one is rather average and the other is just a tad impressive. Personally I like them both, and if they stick around I may even buy one in a few years time. (Once I manage to leave the rat race! )

    Quick Questions

Thanks, I have the Haynes for it, so should manage. But no doubt I'll be putting it off for a few weeks until it's got a WoF, as if it fails it may become scrap. I'll give you a call if I get stuck / closer to the time . Cheers.

    Quick Questions

As mentioned before, I've been topping up with water due to the rate it's been going through it. I know I shouldn't, but I didn't have the time to fix it previously. Sounds like I'll be taking the dash apart then. Cheers for all your help

    Quick Questions

Following up on this, I'm not sure where the "air con evaporator tray drain" is supposed to be, but the only signs of water underneath the car are drips off the back end of the gearbox, every other fluid leak is an oil. Would this be consistent with a leak from the heater matrix etc inside the car? Cheers, Paul
  9. It was done properly. It isn't one manufacturer using anothers engine and badging it as their own, it is a true collaboration, made by the both of them. The Subaru one says Toyota on it as well. Better than all the cars out there with Mitsubishi electronics, and Mitsi badges everywhere under the hood!
  10. Wait for turbo BR-Z? I would! http://www.stuff.co.nz/motoring/7852065/Fa...diction-for-BRZ
  11. Except octane has nothing to do with fuel quality, only anti-knock properties. High octane fuels can be just as filthy! As mentioned above, the additives have a very good placebo affect but generally thats the only affect you will see. Better to get them cleaned properly! But only if that is confirmed as the problem.
  12. It's unusual to use them... although many seem to not even realise they have them, let alone that they have them on
  13. Welcome to the joys of e30 ownership. You will probably need everything you found in it over your journey. And a LOT more beer. Edit: I also see it's got one of the nicer E30 steering wheels. Good score, as the standard one is a bit shite.
  14. Got to be honest, I kinda like the Style 18s. Very similar to the TSWs I have haha. I would quite happily have an E36 coupe with them on it.
  15. Hey! Don't knock it til you've tried it! It's good fun having a big (thirsty) car. Just gotta remember it's not so much fun when you can't afford to take it anywhere
  16. Needs more full size wheels, drawbar and trailer hitch.

    318is

Yes, but he has some nice photos so it's worth much much more. (I'm just jealous I can't afford it!)

    Yet Another E30

Just painted the back of the clear stuff with some satin black. I had some clear leftover from replacing a garage window, using the black stuff would probably be better but it came out sweet anyway,

    Quick Questions

I've been naughty and been topping it up with water, so perhaps I wouldn't. I can't really see or feel it leaking from anywhere in the engine bay, and it seems to leak worse if the heater is on.. (Maybe tap is good, but box is stuffed?)

    Quick Questions

1985 E30 320i. Losing coolant, but no obvious signs of leakage and no water in the oil. Leaking heater box or tap etc inside the car? Should my next step be to remove, or partially dissasemble the dash? Cheers
  22. Very nice. Would make an awesome tow wagon! Just needs 4wd and I'd be selling the Rangie for one haha.
  23. They are $110ish on Trademe brand new from Mill-And. And last time I got one fitted it was about $50-60 in labour (45 mins I think).
  24. Yes. The fuel pump relay can die leading to intermittent starting. But many other things can do the same, it's certainly something to check though.
  25. I believe it is the same setup. Certainly does sound awesome, I can't believe this was marketed as a luxury car! It sounds too rough. It is also insanely tall. But handles like it isn't.
