Mine had two each side, and only came with two bolts so whoever I bought it from had obviously only ever used two as well. Figured with the hefty re-enforcement plate that came with it, it'd be no worries. Never had any issues with it yet, but I've only used it for trailers maybe 3 times. Mostly used for a bike rack.

On a PFL the genuine BMW towbar simply bolts up in place of the bumper mounts, and the bumper then mounts to it. If the towbar has "rails" as you say then it is not a BMW original part, so how it fits is up to the manufacturer of your towbar, anybodys guess haha.

Those seats would go nice in an E30...

I'd be interested, depending on final costs etc as my viscous just decided to s**t itself

Repco or supercheap. Replace oil, add additive, wait til it stops working or you next change oil, add some more. It varies by brand, but some products can only be added once per oil change, others up to 3 times etc.

Yup that's the one. He was awesome, valued the car at $3k and mags at $500. Even gave me a call the other day to update me on their shift of premises lol.
-
Get them valued by a Mag Wheel retailer or a registered motor vehicle dealer. If you list your location people can suggest an appropriate place. I got my whole car and wheels both valued at a classic car dealer in Wellington, State was more than happy with that.

Needs prices as per forum rules. "Offers" is not good enough for the mods.

Not sure if it's true for E30s, but for a lot of cars the code for the keys is written on the locks. So might just be a case of taking the bootlock to a locksmith?

I'll take a chop or two.

Must be pretty heavy to require a Suburban, my 87 Range Rover is rated to 3500kg.

The going rate seems to be $80 to $100 in my experience. They are only worth as much as the tyres on them.
-
You used to be able to order them in through Supercheap, but I'm pretty sure they don't do them anymore. Always worth a shot if you haven't tried though.

Cheap E30s used to be very common, I paid less than $1300 for each of the 2 320i manual sedans I've bought so far. 325i's cost a bit more normally, but not necessarily heaps more especially if they are Auto. Just gotta wait and see. As to the AA check, most people will tell you it's a waste of time on an E30 because they WILL have a list of issues 3 pages long. But in a way it does let you know exactly what you should focus on fixing. I've never actually done a check on any car though, and only got burned once when I bought a 70s Ford sight unseen. Everything I've looked at has turned out pretty good.

The one on my 85 320i has been whizzing away non-stop for at least a year now. So maybe it's on it's way out, but not necessarily quickly!

It was on TM a while back. Not sure how long.

If you just scroll through the "Projects" forum you should find a few. There's only like 3 pages to check.

You can just see to the right of the bracket where the wire is going through. This pic shows the holes I found to mount the plug on. 2 self-tapping screws and it was done Shows where it comes through on the inside. And the wiring. You can see the separate earth I made, as prior to that it didn't work.
-
On mine there was a hole already for it, I'll double check where for you, and can get a picture if you want? I wired the towbar into the wires above the Left Tail-light too, but made a separate earth for the earth wire, just using a crimp 0 connection under one of the bolts securing the lock. Edit: There was a hole directly beside the Left rear bumper/towbar mount, comes through directly under the left rear tail-light, and then beside where the towbar sticks out my bumper also had 2 screw-holes on the underside for attaching the trailer plug to the bumper. Edit 2: If there isn't one then just go nuts with a 10mm drill bit Just make sure you pick a safe spot to drill.

Mine has had wheel bearing, complete secondhand rack, and there is still a shimmy in the steering. Hopefully be pinpointed when I take it for a WoF next week!

Facelift or Prefacelift? Photo? Price? (As per Forum Rules...)

It was damp under the mats, I think it's leaking through some rust developing near the top of the firewall. I always suspected it'd be a bit of a project, but for $1900 I couldn't say no. 18?! Dad had a territory and never had it over 15! I've been trying my hardest to be good with the throttle, but the v8 rumble is hard to resist. (Fortunately V8s sound so good just idling along too!)

Yeah umm... it has some Ali door plates that were screwed down OVER the edge of the carpet, preventing it from being lifted. Now I know why. I'm too scared to unscrew the other 3 and check the rest of my floor! Guess I should invest in a TIG.

So I've had the Range Rover a couple of months now, taken it out with the horse float a few times, and I love the sound of it! It pulls well, not effortless, but good enough. Definitely has a drinking problem though. Went for the WoF and failed on a couple things. Dodgy repairs on the bonnet by previous owner were not up to standard. Small patch of rust under the inner guard. Except it turned into full blown cancer!

Wouldn't that make it better at resisting stone chips than a traditional paint? I think it'd be awesome done right. I.E in outrageous colours.
