Ok so it started hunting again... badly. Just replaced the crankcase breather hose, which it turns out was rather split, and it runs better and idles lower... Still hunts occasionally around 900-1100rpm, which is quite annoying, and I cannot figure it out at all!! Hopefully its a problem that will just go away over time Oh and I'm bringing it with me to Blenheim for my Airforce pre-entry tech course cos I'm selling my other car... any Bimmersporters in Blenheim?? I'm there from the 31st of May till mid-september when my Recruit Course starts..

My Subarus been relisted at $1 reserve if you wanted a quick daily Links in my sig..
-
I found this quite funny the other day when I first saw it. It was going for more than my car!! Fortunately thats changed
-
$500 in one night... Wasn't expecting that.... Still a massive bargain though, if anyone wants something fast and comfy (With the safety of 4wd and abs haha)
-
Thats why the "cert" you get for an objective noise test has plates/stickers.whatever applied to your exhaust as well as the piece of paper for your glovebox. That way you can show them it's legal, and show them you haven't changed it

Certainly sounds different! Ive heard of RBs in E30s, but E34s are pretty special arent they?
-
Just a point... the Igniter module could also be on the front right inner guard, up by the relay(s) and the Airflow Meter (mine was, so guess some cars were different?)..
-
And another shhameless plug here... Buy a Subaru instead, heaps cheaper, and pretty comfy http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.as...656&ed=true Although personally... i would pick the 540... cant beat a V8

Hey guys.. As some of you will know I'm off to join the Airforce. Before they'll take me they require me to complete a Tech course down in Blenheim, so to help pay for this course I'm selling my Subaru on trademe. I've listed it at $1 reserve as I NEED the money and the course starts in 3 weeks. If anyone has any questions feel free to call/text/PM/ask here/ask on trademe. $1 Subaru Legacy RS

I prefer to fill my car up myself personally. Mostly because they seem to teach service station attendants that they should full the car right up, to the brim of the filler. So that it just spills out the vent hole in the cap/the overflow on the very first corner!!! There is a reason the pumps click off when they do, but for some reason the people who use them all day dont know this?

+2 Hopefully 2 seasons time for me haha. Although im sooo bloody close to getting there!!! What happened to whos bonnet?????
-
I hav a motor in my garage you could use ... may need piston rings first though
-
This. Until you come across an annoying, impossible to find vacuum leak that leaves the car hunting until it is just past half-way on the temp guage!!! (and yes I've tried replacing the hoses on the ICV)
-
Ok, now i feel better about my cambelt haha. Just avoid quad-cam subarus like the plague though. Seriously.

1994 Subaru Legacy RS (need i say more?) Bought February last year Selling now Done 30,000kms 1. New Cambelt, Waterpump and oil seals within 6 months of buying it. 2. Airflow meter and knock sensor gave out within 2 weeks of cambelt. 3. Tyres needed replacing for WoF within 2 months of cambelt. 4. Failed said WoF on steering rack bushes and front left lower rear shock mount. 5. Within 2 months of failing WoF, clutch starts to slip. 6. Clutch replacement requires new flywheel, old one covered in hairline cracks from overheating due to clutch slippage. 7. 2 weeks ago fuel pump just dies on my way to work. No warning, just suddenly have no fuel pressure. Not quite as long a list, but Subaru parts are not cheap!!! Horrendously expensive in fact. Like European car expensive!!! An E30 would be cheaper to maintan E30 1987 320i Racecar. 1. Leaking sunroof, carpet soaked 2. Rust under windscreen, all through sunroof bracket and by tail-light. 3. Wrong ratio diff for race series 4. Wrong sized struts 5. Needed new tyres for WoF 6. Fried piston-rings at Manfeild 7. New engine only firing on 5 8. New engine has exhaust manifold leak 9. Wheel-nuts not tightened = new wheel bearing 10. Failed scrutineering due to insufficient battery clampage. 11. Breather hose comes off rocker cover = 40L to travel 250kms 12. Persistent hunting, untraceable 13. Exhaust manifold has 2 broken studs, 1 loose one and one hex-headed bolt in it (and i have no hex-sockets!) 14. Clutch had no meat on it whatsover observed during engine swap. Will need replacing. Cars suck. But i love them.

Is this still for sale? I may be looking for a new car in a few weeks....
-
Because the race-series is based on stock 318i's and 320i's, so they use the diff that most(some?) of them came with. I was unfortunate to buy a PFL 320i so it had a 3.91
-
Of course he'd say that... given where i got mine from
-
We are still waiting for episode three yeah? Plenty of gold material for it lately.
-
I got them through work when i worked for supercheap, cant say how much i paid for them tho haha... Im not sure where anyone else got theirs from, but I think theres a few people down here who run race-series suspension.. Coupled with the race series Konis and they are just magic (as long as you dont have to go through roadworks everyday )
-
Yep, not good ones though haha.. I can go take some more if you want?
-
4.10 is the race-series spec diff, so you might want to consider a change to something different/cheaper maybe? I sold a 3.91 on trademe for $20 last year haha. When i bought my 4.10 the going rate was around $500 (or maybe i just got ripped? )
-
How far is the sump off the ground? Because i cant tell you how much drop the race series springs are, but they leave the sump at 105-115ish mms off the ground... and are nice and stiff too, but they are also progressive springs for an added bonus
-
Chuck some used oil over the rust to make it dark and contrast more perhaps? You know exactly what im referring to haha.
-
Yes it is through XT. Personally I only text for continued conversations, and when im not in the mood for a quick chat. I like the lack of time boundaries. However for any business purpose, be it enquiring about a car on trademe, or anything of the sort i feel it is considerably more "proper" to call.
