  1. A manual conversion is VERY high on the list once im done moving. Looks like ill be paying around 1-1.3K for a conversion kit, and hopefully i can find somewhere i can do the work myself (if not my own garage). Anyone know if the 318is manual setup (gearbox, clutch, lines, driveshaft etc) is EXACTLY bolt in for an M52 323i? Also, ive heard there is issues with the ECU on some cars when converting to manual? Something to do with the later OBD2?
  2. Cheers for the heads up, have asked. Theres a couple of 97s on there, but people seem to be struggling with the whole "wtf is a transmission control unti?" thing.

ive used the subaru UEC on my previous subbies, and on some it makes a hell of a difference. My last wrx i did it to, ended up returning better economy and came on boost quicker.
  6. TO suit jatco transmission in E36. prefer from 320i or 323i, cars build date MUST be newer than 1/97. Transmission control unit, lives near ECU. In chch can pick up or pay postage, let me know what you want for it.
  7. Thanks for the advice. How can I tell when my car was made? Is there a way to tella newer tcu from old one? Does it have to be a tcu from a Jdm car? Oh an yea sadly the car is covered in dust and dirt. All the roads around where I live are torn up, so hard to keep clean
  8. Itll get a damn good clean, and a rear debadge eventually.... Installed my headunit today, woot.
  9. Hi everyone Im Kelvin, from Christchurch. Just purchased my 30th car, which is my first BMW. Purchased it from a fellow member, and love it. the build quality and design completely blow standard jap cars away. Anyway its a 1996 323i Motorsport coupe in Hellrot. (unfortunately) its an Auto, but should be great for my drive from CHCH to wellington when i move next month. Its genuine motorsport, with full kit, side strips, interior and apparently shocks. Needs a clean, but here is some pics of it from after i got it. And i love this little bit of detail... Motorsport coloured stitching.
  10. damn shame its not manual... would be real keen then
