This looks like a great example if you arent picky about it being bone stock. Only thing i dont like are the seats, rather standard ones for comfort.
  2. Lol, good spotting. Had to even check my old cars to be sure which way they should go.
  3. ugh that leather is gross to look at. Someone please clean and condition it! It looks like a tidy car otherwise, but it wont sell quickly at that price with that many km on it.

    E46 330i Touring.

My E36 had the same issue after i had it converted to manual. Never fixed it before selling but its pretty common.
  5. Interesting about the crossmember though, it needs a cert if the crossmember is changed (IE: if auto and manual ones are different). Also needs a cert if the drive shaft is modified (ie combining the standard auto rear half with a manual front half). Doesnt mention replacing the drive shaft though.

Glad to see it back, i presume HellBM got you all sorted. Good on them for stepping up if they did. Its a great car, best of all the bits. Out of curiosity, is it certified?
  7. damn thats a great price for an awesome car. GLWS.

Are you sure the shift lever isnt back to front? IIRC they can be installed around the wrong way and it pushes the shift position off to the side.
  9. yeah, you think the CSI is rare, try getting hold of an AMG SEC!
  10. But just look how mean and glorious the CSI looks sitting next to it. Completely different league. If only i wasnt poor, an 850csi (or even just a manual 850i) was always on my list of dream cars growing up.
  11. NSX and SEC are deecnt looking cars and great for their times but both have aged and show it. The CSI on the other hand still looks current, and other than the NSX its about the only one on that list that would turn almost every head it went past.
  12. Wow, thats a lovely looking car with some awesome upgrades. Those brembos look well at home there.
  13. The design should stop it from rotating. Shaft has a notch in the top and there is a bit on the inside of the knob that matches that to lock it in place. New knob looks good though, Also loving the basic poverty model clock.
  14. Rings look good, shame you took the sticker off though Is it just me, or is your ///M logo monochrome? Sure my M3 had much brighter colors.
  15. We regularly have an older E class in at work from an Embassy that is a protection version. Only the drivers window rolls down, and only half way. All the others are fixed. The glass is a good couple of inches thick and everything weighs a ton. Doors feel like they are made of concrete. It has weird things like a PA system, fire suppression system, and run flats.
  16. I too love throwing around random numbers and calling them power figures. Flywheel figures are also a waste of time.
  17. cam and crank sensors would normally let the engine turn over, just not start iirc. Scanning it is a good idea though.
  18. Factory ratings for the S50s, sure, but wheel ratings are a lot different. My healthy S50B30 'Euro' made 179kw atw which is inline with others. Is that 172-190kw at the wheel or flywheel?
  19. Nah, serial port. Need it for use with early E36s.
  20. Shame it doesnt have serial
  21. Nope, it still has an option to shift gears by its self. Not a manual. If it was modified to be manually shifted ONLY, with no option of an automatic mode, then yes, even if it doesnt have a clutch pedal or even a clutch, i would classify it as a manual.
  22. i still think its quite simple. It doesnt matter what its made of, whats in it, or what happens when you shift it "manually", if it can change gears by its self without input from the driver, it should not be classified as a Manual.
  23. Still shifts its self, thus not a true "manual" /endthread

    Quick rant thread.

Trademe. A set of wheels was listed with a buy now of $200. A couple of people as questions, new photos get listed and the buy now goes to $300. Their excuse is that in the time between listing last night and about 11am this morning they have had 4 "new" tires fitted. According to the photos these tires are 13 year old Bridgestone Potenzas. f**k that for a joke, i aint paying more for 13 year old tires.
