  1. according to carjam, NZDM 3.8 and high KM, so obviously someone uses it a lot (which is good, its what it was made for)
  2. fark me thats cheap! Id be on that already if it were local.
  3. clearly not, or it would be sold. Its also priced fairly well above most others on trademe. Prices for the 335i certainly arent what they were a year ago, theyre getting cheap. great for the buyers, crap for sellers.
  4. Not sure what all the desire is for vaders tbh. good looking, but otherwise bad seats.
  5. Exactly this, and tbh not a hell of a lot of hope for a trans thats had oil run through it thats contaminated with coolant. You wouldnt be able to flush it with a bottle, it would need to actually pump the oil through it (causing more damage in the process), or be stripped down and cleaned (and rebuilt since itll be stuffed).
  6. IMO probably cheaper, easier and quicker to just get a replacement used trans?
  7. my advice would be to create a photobucket account and use that to host your pictures. Its free and easy to use.
  8. Your car looks amazing Daniel, and that high rise wing is fantastic. Totally the look i would go for if i got another 36.
  9. in your second photo on the first post, you can see the trans cooler, between the rad hose and the fan down the bottom. almost looks like a hose has come off (hard to tell in shaky cam though)?
  10. actually looking at realoem i might be wrong, looks like the heat exchanger is attached to the radiator and then coolant is transferred from the radiator into that. Must have suffered an internal failure.
  11. i think you would need to replace the radiator if the trans cooler has failed, as its integrated into it. Better off buying a cheap oil cooler and plumbing it separately.
  12. imo unless youre really attached to the car, it would be best to grab a replacement auto from hellbm or brent, install that and either run the car as is, or sell it and get something M54B30 powered. It just wouldnt be worth the cost, effort and work to convert it.
  13. yeah, its actually not a great idea and they fail regularly on most makes. We just finished a customers Merc E500 that needed a trans rebuild because coolant contaminated the trans oil. Ended up running an external cooler instead of in the rad so it didnt happen again. It wasnt a disgustingly spectacular looking milkshake though.
  14. Nice style wheel, not enough tyre for me though.
  15. Trans cooler on most cars is just a pipe running inside the bottom/side tank of the radiator with trans fluid running through it. If it leaks, trans oil and coolant will make babies. Im guessing the trans doesnt have a dipstick? stupid lifetime oil.
  16. thats a good point actually, i was thinking that in traffic today when following an X5... lots seem to run huge negative camber in the rear. Looks stupid and wouldnt get any better once loaded up.
  17. Ah this old kettle of fish. Cant afford a mechanic, so will give it an uneducated bash, make it worse, and then have to pay to fix it anyway. Same story, different thread/forum.
  18. Ron has spoken in the past about some costly service items, namely brakes having a short and expensive life span iirc. Its actually something he seems to have some legit knowledge on.
  19. as mentioned, some countries have adopted a zero alcohol tolerance. I dont see why kiwis feel its their right to consume a mind altering substance and then operate an automobile. Having a low tolerance is nicer to the public than zero tolerance, so no one really has a right to complain. Disclaimer: I have a one beer or wine before driving limit, have never exceeded that, and have never failed a breath test. I drink infrequently, and will often opt for non-alcoholic beverages if i know im driving.
  20. HA! Good luck with that, even with Uber they would rather fight it then actually become competitive.
  21. I dont care what the story is when it comes to drink driving, absolutely anything they can do to get drink drivers off the road is a win in my book.

    Cops & Plates

Thats really weird, what sort of car was it? Cant see any reason a commodore would need a sticker plate.
  23. im clearly in the minority in thinking PY and Kiwi is a great combo. Only one better is black with kiwi interior. I hate those painted factory wheels with a vengeance though. IMO it sounds looked after, with some rather marmite modifications, but as long as there is proof of the work done and the boot floor is still intact it wouldnt be a bad buy.
  24. lol, i was averaging about 14l/100km but i used all 311hp each time i drove it.
