  2. All the best mate, have a good one(I am sure you will!)
  3. thats helpful though i suspect its not the latter...thanks
  4. thats excellent for a heavy three leitre car isnt it!Why oh why arent there any six speed manual 530's
  5. be aware the mtech suspension is slightly different than std(shocks and springs)
  6. bg98267..inconclusive,manf 3/98 but real oemsays intake manifold is the same as a 2000 model...but then again says from 9/98
  7. Was there an engine update on the M62 in the 540 in about 1998?what was it ?
  8. my 535 did this...was the rotor and dizzie cap
  9. isnt the freeview HD 720p or 1080i too?Look forward to geting my new scart to component cables.Quality of picture varies hugely from one program to the next. Most of the ads seem to be very good tho
  10. shouldnt matter about windscreen washer fluid,But if it says "intensive clean" on the tank do your self a favour and put some in (can be bought from dealer)Some say the coolant should only be BMW blue but the most important thing is you put in an antifreeze at the recomended proportions and change it regularly(2 years max)
  11. the mysky will let you watch one and record two channels.Send sky an email i find them quite helpful.I just got a new tele and asked if i could have some component cables to replace my old composite ones. They are gonna send me some. They even asked how long I needed!
  12. you might need a new flywheel.Aparently the dual mass ones cant be machined. If you do need a new one a lighter one from the E28 apparently is the go..
  13. the m30 itself is almost bulletproof but keep the oil changes coming keep the cooling system up to scratch including regular coolant changes(the annual service (clock symbol on dashboard)evry 12 months reminds you.) the e34 has a few comon problems...look at http://www.bmwe34.net/ and http://www.bimmer.info/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=10 otherwise there is a wealth of info on the net

yes petrol was 48 c a gallon and beer was 48 c per jug mind you my pay was only about 5000 a year
  16. phils dark green leather aint bad tho????
  17. m5 pics dont work Allan
  18. Was interesting in the workshop. The new system means germany have a real time record of what goes wrong and how it is fixed with every car hooked up to the new testers. Control modules are programmed, software updates can be released for modules that are only 1 day old.Software updates can also make control modules themselves obsolete.Japanese and Singapore cars can be very different from NZ models, and can only be programmed properly in the country of origin. Grays have had cars being programmed for 26 hours!Hence their new multi terra gig server set up
  19. M3 also has a new twin clutch DCT transmission
  20. I have driven one,and i still find my 535 more....fun but the 540 feels immemsley powerful, and very civilised...The 540 wont use much more(if any) than the 535 for my drive...if petrol keeps going up it may stay in the garage for a couple of days a week, whilst i use the 400watt treadly
  21. Agreed Jeremy but this method has worked well for me before. If the car does actually look as good as the pics then i willprolly go for it.But pic can be very deceiving esp of wet cars shot from a distance...If i do it will be a longer drive than chch to picton...I would take some time of and do a circuit of the whole island, with a couple of figure eights thrown in!
  22. Mercedes will be gutted, and Toyota!I can do a dvd of the highlights for peoples...
  23. murphys law says as soon as you replace the bushes only you will need a new arm cos the ball joint(s) will go.Thats what happened to me.
