Even if I had his kind of money I wouldn't buy that many cars. I suppose its just like collecting stamps but I wouldn't do that either.

+1 I eat Nongshim hot and spicy 3-4 times a week for a cheap lunch at work. Clears your sinuses for added bonus - these puppies are spicy!. They make a non hot/spicy flavour which is good also, but even they are too hot/spicy for most european pallets. I'm not asian, I just like it hot. Mi Goreng used to be my fav, but gone off them now - too "sweet" if you know what I mean. Another awesome lunch idea is the Japanese miso soup sachets. Awesome when you've got a cold for warming up in the morning. A couple of cents a packet, just mix with hot water to your personal taste. Faster than noodles. As far as are they good for me? Better than pies which I eat alot of also. That said, all my other meals are helathy and I run 20km+ a week, and workout 3 times a week, so I can get away with it.

If you can't find a wheel you like on that site (Image) then you're a picky bastard. Not cheap though. You gets what you pays for I guess.

So these are made in nz by you? Will you be selling these for awhile as I would be keen to get some next month.

I always suspected mine was out. Then they put up those LCD speed signs that display your speed. There's one in Whangarei. I'd be doing an indicated 55kph and it would say 45km/h. There's also one on SH 1 north of Puhoi as you're heading south. I would be doing 105kph indicated and it would say 95kph. So I got out the hand-held GPS and it said the same - I was over reading by 10kph constant over all speeds from 40kph-100kph+. So I removed the cluster and adjusted it and tested. It now reads about 1.5kph higher than the gps, and if I hit reset on the average speed function on my OBC it is now about 2kph lower than the OBC (it was about 10kph higher before). So I should be pretty good now depending on GPS accuracy, but I'd guess its very good at determining velocity. I'll check against the LCD signs when I drive to Auckland in 2 weeks. Only downside is that now I'll probably get more tickes as before I had an auto-safety function. I think you mean over-read - ie they say you're going faster than you are.

Any chance of a clear picture? If its not too much to ask?

Is it manual? Wash your mouth out. Of course its bloody manual! BTW your mis-spelling of loud is really bugging me for some reason. Its fine Graham - I guess i was just expecting them to all be Nazis as usual and was pleasantly surprised when it wasn't the case.
-
I'll be fine then.

Sure is. I have STMS qualification aswell. I must have pissed a few people off as I would sometimes keep religiously to the speed limit totally unaware until a few weeks ago that my speedo was over-reading by 10km/h. yeap - I'm that guy doing 70kph in an 80 flipping the bird to those "hoons" going past at 90 thinking they were doing 100 plus. Speedo fixed now, and it must be coincidence because there's nowhere near as many speeding drivers anymore! lol.

Yeah I have no problem with the law, just expected WOF people to just refer on to objective test anything that wasn't stock. Last thing I wanted was to have spent a grand doing the exhaust properly (not loud on purpose), and then spend $200 on a test to tell me what I already knew - that its louder than stock, but within the legal levels.

It's quite a change from when I bought it:

How did I miss this thread? Will look forward to seeing you at the track in it. Just out of curiosity, how much do you think you'll be asking for your e30 car. I have been wondering about the cost of a tried, tested and sorted e30 car for a few months.
-
OK so I got a WOF yesterday. At a place I'd never been before because my regular mechanic recently divorced and sold his business. (Super gay as he was a legend). Anyway, asked around and found a workshop close to my parents place (miles from my place - oh well). The owner did some time at BMW melbourne and is a Pom. No guru, but at least has worked on the cars before. His only comments were that he had noticed the exhaust wasn't factory, but that in his opinion wasn't loud enough to warrant an objective test. Sweet. Anyone at the karting meet can have a listen if they want. Its significantly louder than factory. Cheers.

I'm interested Glenn, but until I've found a set for sale somewhere I'm not sure what to offer. Will you be at the go karting meet? Could talk turkey then. Also front lenses can be clears just not crystal. I've been looking around and all the smoked ones are too orange. Are you clears clear or crystal Mike? How much?

Got a photo of the e36 sides. Could be an option.

Not bad man. What's next on the agenda?

Safer than kick boxing!?

Ron, why not the Bel Sti? It seems to be the most commonly compared detector to v1 on most magazine and online reviews.

He also won't sell me side repeaters unless I buy rear lights aswell - something about them being harder to get and him saving to sell as a kit. I'm not spending $400 and ending up with a set of tail lights I don't want and can't sell. Thanks though. In no hurry. Some will turn up.

There's one on the topgear official site where only a small part of the car is revealed. if you can't guess you can slowly reveal more of the car until you get it. Each reveal loses points. Also addictive.

Because you are poor and want to pose? I can see the appeal. Wouldn't buy it personally.
