Thanks for the new NWS rating, but was a bit late - lucky I'm the sys admin. Was a good pic tho.

They have one advertised on TM just now.SD European RRP e36 man conv. incl. labour $3750+GST. On this auction they say they're gonna let it go and see what it comes to. In the Q & A they're talking rough quote of $2000+GST. And if that sounds cheap - they're using mostly secondhand parts and they keep all the auto stuff they take off your vehicle.

It's a 5-star alarm so you get everything a 5-star offers. But from experience they are a little pricey and the others are more common for probably good reason, but as long as AVS offer a good standard of installation and after-sales-service I don't see a problem. Old story - a good install makes more difference than a good alarm. sh*t install on a gd alarm will make it worthless a good install on a cheaper alarm can make it excellent.

*sic drives a honda. His name is Damian (spelt the same way).

graeme, you'll probably find it was manufactured in 87 and sold in 88.

I gave up after I stuffed one up. I'm just too lazy. been meaning to start again, but honestly, the bottlestore is much closer and more convenient than the brewers store.

Link Local car dealer up here in Kerikeri. Told Gus about this one when he was looking last year. Back then they wanted $13,000. Since then it has been repainted in the same colour - the old paint was fine but for some stone chips so pointless IMO. Has been cleaned up well and appears very tidy. Ran well on my test drive. Was very wet so got to test out the LSD . Well worth 8 or 9, but not 11.5k Last week I was in there picking up something for my Dad's Baur and I enquired what the price was now (been for sale for 4 months). I was told around $13k "We're not going to give it away". I told them what I thought it was worth. My guess is that the new price is a reflection of this plus dealer margin. Just in case anyones thinking about it. Car looks fine based on my cursory inspection, just not well priced - it is at a yard afterall.

Mongoose M60 or M80 Dynatron D4600 or 4800. Martyn - If you'd sprung for the M80 it has the ignition loop that deactivates the immobilser whenever the key is in or near the ignition. Dynatron D4800 is the same. So the immobiliser re-activates, you put the key in the ignition and before you've even turned it it has deactivated the alarm and away you go. The 30 sec reactivation is a requirement for the insurance rating so if you want a 4-star alarm you cannot remove this feature. The D4600/M6o are about $500 installed by a reputable dealer/distributor - expect to pay $700 for the m80/D4800 unless you can get it on special. Mine was $500 on special. PI are cheap. but if you want advice go to someone like Paul Money. There is a wealth of info on car audio at forums.nzicemag.co.nz.

I know sh*t about currency. My wee investments (and I mean wee) are in managed funds (i.e managed share portfolio), mortgage backed funds, personal share portfolio, and commercial and residential rental property. Would be keen to have a play on a virtual level until I get the hang of it and then maybe throw a grand at it. Any virtual currency trading sites that are up to date with prices and work similar to the real thing? but to answer the question - yes am interested.

Link to PDF Based on one particular companys' aftermarket LSD's for BMW's this article has useful information regarding all BMW diffs whether open or LSD, small, medium or large case for e30 and some newer as well as differential fundamentals LSD fundamentals, benefits of LSD's, and technical specifications. Must-read if you are playing about with your diff.
-
I doubt your car pulled 200 BEFORE you changed diffs unless you modded it. Stop lying. By the way your location is spelt Coromandel. The only dill is you. I'm in a shitty mood so there. Anyway, I'm way ahead of you bro - you went for the SLOOOOOOOOOOW diff. I got a 4.45 and my car can do 230.

I have them switched off. Wasted bandwith.

it will improve your acceleration, sure, but it reduces your top end and increases your fuel consumption. If you want more power turbo it

This topic of discussion is like christmas. It happens once a a year. In fact last time it was around February too if I remember. The forum is as the forum does. Every so often it gets out of hand, someone has a cry and threatens to leave and then everything turns back to normal. Build a freaken bridge already.

And the test writers had a sense of humour:

http://www.puritytest.net/ Any takers? P.S. don't fill it out at work -was half way through second section and thought "hmmm would I really want my boss to know this?" do it at home peeps.
-
I've sussed it. Take your age and divide by your partners - that gives a ratio. so 57/50= 1.14 Whilst 23/16= 1.44 that would be a fair way to score... :thumb:

Please lets not start this line of conversation again. I've lost track of how many times we've discussed what a bunch of cradle snatchers bimmersporters are. Maybe start a new poll - What is the age gap between you and your partner/gf/bf? 1-3yrs older than you, 1-3yrs younger than you, 3-5 etc etc. Although there needs to be some sort of multiplying factor that takes age into account. a 23 yo with a 16 (7 yrs) is more interesting than a 57yo with a 50yo. woteva
