Why don't you enlighten us? I'd be interested in a more balanced discussion.

I have a K&N panel filter for F/L e30 you can have for cheap. Second hand, but in as-new condition. Regularly cleaned and oiled. Make me an offer over PM. I don't need it as I went to a CAI pod type setup with the supercharger so it's been sitting on a shelf in my garage waiting for a new home. Would love to see someone get some use out of it.
-
Why? Want to make your e36 into a lambo???
-
The bolt is tapered - hence why the jack trick works, and why they are such a bitch to get off.

Alot of the cars electronics (especially the sensitive stuff) is isolated from the battery by the ignition. It's probably OK (though I don't risk it). Wouldn't do it with the ignition on though. Also, batteries can emit explosive gas when being charged (according to the labels), so out of the car and not connected to anything that can make a spark is better than in as far as I'm concerned.

^^This is the main benefit. Plus increased induction noise. No noticeable performance difference, and possible decrease with non-heat-shielded pod variety.

Wow, small world! Will PM my details so we can catch up. Bimmersport - bringing old friends together since ages ago!

^^ This - I was thinking it... I can't believe how short a lifespan consumer goods have these days. Sure it's cheaper, but manufacturing methods and materials are cheaper too, so that is as it should be. Problem is everything breaks too soon. But the quality stuff from years gone by is still going strong. There was a time when Japanese stuff was considered crap (cars included) but they got their act together - the Chinese will too. They're too determined to be a world player to not listen to their market.

Because if you're reading this around the time I'm posting it, you are either a poor sap like me working on the weekend, or have the day off, but have no social life. Welcome to the forum Cliff! I used to know a Cliff from Dunedin who'd be your age. Very much doubt that you're the same guy unless about 9 years ago you used to live on George St with a Russian called Andrei and a Maori called Willy. Enjoy the bimmer.

Zonda Bus Farken hell they spout some bullshit!
-
Yep. Can make 'em out of alloy (best as they press-in permanently, but are expensive), or nolothane or similar.

Spotted out the back of a car rental yard languishing in the rain. Has some rust, paint is in poor cond, and is probably only good for parts. But... Leather interior (4-door) with what appears only wear being on the drivers bolster, so replace that and you're away, plus all the other usual SA goodies. Will let you know the name of the yard if anyone is interested in making the guy an offer. Doesn't look like it's moved in awhile. Place used to be a car yard, so might be a carry-over from then and they guy might be glad to see it go.

And a new Mustang doesn't? I could understand someone buying a mustang and making it look like a Lambo, but the other way around? I can't believe that through all the process of designing the conversion there wasn't someone there who was able to figure out how to change his mind and still take his money.
-
Yeah. It's had a hard life. It's parked there because Justin is buying it for parts. RIP.

So I ordered a brand new BT-50 4WD manual double cab wellside in highlight silver yesterday. Should be here around end of next week. Looking forward to the new ride. Outgoing ute is a clapped out 1995 Ford Courier with 383,000kms (of which I have done the last 150,000), so is a bit of an upgrade to say the least!
-
If you bought the place, congrats on the new venture!

Love the sound track. One of my fav driving tunes. Nice car too...

There are plenty of responsible and free ways to recycle waste oil. There's no excuse to pour it in the ground, road, drains, etc. If you are not a member of the yacht club concerned and you start using marina oil dumps expect to be asked to pay or trespassed from the Marina. Berth holders pay for the service, and you're likely to get a very angry response if you're not a member and you are using their facilities. There are free Council/Ratepayer paid dumps all over the place including rural areas. Ring them and ask.

Those prices are around 20-25% above normal retail.

I do love a good Lola, and that one is MAGNIFICENT! There's a collection of them in NZ somewhere.
