  1. I've seen it a few times. Number plate is 325IM. Older guy driving it - seen it quite far up north too, and once towing a small boat. I'm guessing its someone who has a holiday home up north somewhere and passes through regularly.

And I just found out that the firmware updates are deployed via itunes. So that kind of seals the deal doesn't it??? I would have thought Apple were smart enough to realise that the majority of its customers want CHOICE. Part of the reason they like Macs.

    MP3 Player

I want drag and drop without having to install a rather large behemoth piece of software being installed that seems to want to download large updates every 2 minutes. I have a media player that I like (VLC for video and WMP for music playback/internet radio/music library), so I don't want to use iTunes for that, all I want is to drag and drop my existing music onto the ipod. Why can't Apple make it optional? It smacks of bundling IE with Windows, etc. But from what I can gather, there are workarounds, so its not a big deal. It looks as though I'll get the nano. Sure 8GB may fill up faster than I think (esp since I've been encoding my mp3's at 320kbs since large HDD's have become common), but I want to buy new, and I want something cheap enough so that if I lose it, I won't be too pissed off, and at $230 for the 8gb nano, that fits the bill. At 320kbs it should be about 60hours of music. So maybe I could just re-rip at 256kbs which is probably way better than my bad ears care about anyway, and then I'd get closer to 70 hours.
  4. Please guys, the guy wants some real advice, not you're half-witted attempts at humour! I've deleted them. Post up the measurements for front and rear taken from the centre of the wheel to the lip of the guard.

Thanks guys. Am definitely buying new, so that makes a classic out of the budget. mp3 CD's are half the problem. I have 3 CD cases in my car. I want to clear them out. iTunes has got to be the best reason NOT to get an ipod. What file formats will an ipod play?
  6. I've passed on a fair bit of info to Shelley. Looking forward to see if any of them are hot leads. So far I've got: Address of property owned in Huntly Previous Residential Address in Hamilton Landlords name and address for above Former business partners names and address and ph number Currently trying to dig up previous Auckland address Its amazing what you can find out with free, publicly available information. Some of which did come from the companies register which Ollie mentioned. In fact, the Ministry for Economic Development group of websites contains a plethora of info on people. Add in property records, Google, Facebook, phonebooks, etc and a bit of detective work and there you are. No I'm not a stalker Riely - lol. But I have been owed money more than once, and that's a great motivator to learn where to look.
  7. Euro-Italian - forum sponsor. Gives a discount to members. I've never broken one. Perhaps you should be doing less skids, or learn how to do them without breaking your doughnut.
  8. OK , found her Huntly Property Z______ Magdalene N________ 8 S__w St, Huntly Will keep looking and PM you the results.
  9. What's her name Shelley? I can search the properties register, and you say she owns property.

    MP3 Player

I want a fairly budget mp3 player to rock a few portable tunes in the car and at parties. The 8GB ipod Nano fits the bill in terms of what I want and budget, but being the bargain-hunter I am, I wonder what alternatives are out there at this price point??? The 8GB Nano is $230 retail. Anyone using anything else that they'd recommend over the ipod?? PS for me to pick something over the ipod it would have to be cheaper. PPS I tried a couple of Sony walkman mp3 players at the Sony store yesterday. I hated the interface, so anything Sony is out. PPPS Yes I know - I'm rather late in joining the ipod generation.
  11. A bit defensive aren't you Glenn? You'd be the first to agree that there are plenty of cowboys out there doing your trade a dis-service. It definitely happens. I know a mechanic that regularly drives customers cars how he clearly shouldn't and brags about it to his mates, and I regularly warn his customers. That doesn't mean all mechanics (or even a majority) are like this. All trades have their cowboys - watch Target.

Enough of that guys. The OP wasn't very clear but don't get nasty.
  13. Nothing wrong with it, but there are better mercs. I think you'll find it a bit of a tank after the m3.
  14. Why 6x9's??? It's well known that you get better sound from more expensive amped front components and a sub. Plus that way for track days its super easy to pull out the sub box and amp to lighten the car.
  15. Gavin did mine. It had already been dyno tuned by someone else, but it was detonating. They'd ramped up the fuel pressure to stupid levels and unplugged sensors to trick the ecu so it would run. It was detonating lots. Gavin got it making the same power but with all the sensors plugged in, correct fuel pressure, and NO detonation.
  16. I think they'd work well on your car Peter.
  17. I've always wanted a message board for my car rear window... Followed a Golf the other night with its single red cyclops eye burning at me. Was so bright I couldn't make out the tail light on the opposite side of the car. I think its the same cow who used to blind me in her Peugeot until she wrote it off into another car and a truck in front of me on the way to work about 6 months ago. Bev B, I hope your poor driving skills causes you to back into a lamp post and break your damn fog light.
  18. Which translates Two Wheels Move the Soul or similar. nothing to do with the location in the photo.
  19. Glenn, it's not a Honda. Just kidding. I agree with most of what's said above - the concept is there, but the execution needs work. It's not bad though - I don't say dislike - just not "like".
  20. That's the button Liv. Green dash light for front fogs, orange dash light for rears.

    New Tu Nero Ferrari

Its hot, but Satin Black is sooo 2000 and late. Two-tone and vinyl wrap's where it's at for 2009.
  22. THere's a white one in KK with a similar story (long time storage, widower owner, in white). But I didn't think it was for sale, and the deceased was a very close friend of mine. Now I think about it though, the one I'm thinking of is a bit older than 1983.
  23. Already stickied in the Wheels section Peter.
  24. It's not in Kerikeri is it?
