yeah, I know I have lots more in braking point now .. as I caught myself quite a few time pussying out under brakes. Also the entry points on some corners is a bit lol. Can only build on it .. ollie did a 1:16.9 yesterday so up on his 1:20.3 from the previous week. Im hoping to do the same as we are fairly matched.

Slicks are fun ... Now to get use to their limits. enjoy
-
Finally sorted mine... 1:20.6 for me .. Lots of improvement to be had .. watching this I cringe at a few of my lines. enjoy

A fantastic voyage through Formula One racing up through the mid 1970s Allow some time for this one. http://vimeo.com/17632646 enjoy.

Nice car you have there! .. and welcome!
-
Run a minimum of 38psi if your running 30 and 35 profile tires. For the e39 I would go for 40psi all round. Take it easy into driveways and avoid potholes like the plague. Carry a spare that has the same rolling diameter. When reversing as not to curb them .. set memory 2 to tilt your left mirror so you can see the curb and rear wheel not to curb your wheels. if in doubt get out and look and enjoy

awesome awesome day ... great to see everyone there today. Had a blast, the car with its new slicks on it hauled ... now to work on my driving skills. Managed a 1:20.7 but I know I can go much faster with no traffic and some practice. Ian, was awesome seeing you on the skid pan hahah ... was epic!

they look awesome ... congrats

We have quite the crew going now ... nice work tom.

If you run ouot of room or cant make that work .. you can always try running the e36 m3 remote expansion tank (chamber). Quite easy to route anywhere in the engine bay. In the e30 I put mine over by the loom entrance side. This would still keep your area for your intake and plenium clear if you wanted to later on make a cold air separation chamber.

Problem solved. Thanks for your help anyways ashkan ... will fire you your spacers back today. got some 5x120 16mm 72.5mm bore ones from drivenperformance .. excellent to deal with and allowed me to meet up with him for the exchange ... Ill do a quick write up of the slicks and how I got them around my brakes in my build thread ...

oh dear ... have another read fella. poster is asking about a e39 540i .... Whats does a random bunch of other cars from the 70's and 80's have to do with an e39 540 ?and why do you keep bring the discussion back to radiators? .. a radiator is one part of many of a cooling system which is what I'm talking about fails on a e39 after a relatively small amount of time .. therefor it falls into the catagory of a thing that goes wrong with these vehicles ... im not too sure how much more in context one could get ? Anyways ill leave you to complicate I mean contenplait the universe

youre probably right, right up the ally of what this guys looking at ..

So .... in the mean time you are saying you shouldnt replace the water pump, thermostat, front thermostat to radiator plastic pipe, rear plastic heater pipe, bottom end tank pipes, expansion tank or expansion tank pressure cap? Im not talking about the radiator. I've had all these problems and I drive a 128k NZ New 540 with full documentented BMW dealership service history with a trail of cooling system replacement parts through it and its had its normal cooling services from new. It certainly wasn't 'thrashed' or owned by someone who left it for long periods of time between serviceing. fact is and if you look around on the net to back it up and its one of the most talked about topics around as far as e39's go. ... the e39 has an average cooling system design as does the e46. Because its mostly made from plastic and it will end of life faster than a 'normal' vehicle.

Merry xmas all! Santa got me: subscription to performance car and a HD GoPro Msport camera track days on.

awesome! .. always thought a slightly heavier car with a big torque engine would make an interesting stable rally car.

Hey guys, I made a boo boo and just assumed my spacers I have for the e30 would fit my BBS RC wheels for the upcoming 2nd/jan hampton track day. Turns out my road spacers for the BBS LMs have been re machined to fit the LM specifically. Which is annouying. Anyways.. I was wondering if I could buy/beg/borrow/steal some 5x120 15mm 72.5 centric spacers for the 2nd/Jan? Would probably be one of you e36 guys In the auckland area, Cheers Josh
