    Rev counter

I can remember which pin number but check the tachometer signal in the C101 plug in the engine bay (big round plug that isnt the diag plug). (some one else here will know off hand) You can use a voltmeter to check for initial voltage or it you want to check the square wave signal use an oscilloscope. Next thing to look at is the instrument cluster. It will possible be the cogs in the tach, batteries or leaked batteries in the warning light board or the main board may have a lifted track. All fairly easy to sort out. and lots of info on the net about it. The number of times I have refurbished mine is silly. Right now I have a problem where the rev gauge shaft spins inside the needle causing it to read low after giving it some on the track. I'm looking for an e30 M3 tachometer which goes up to 8000rpm

  9. I don't agree with that because in the case of the wheels that have been replicated here, the real M3 wheels are forged .. Cast non flow formed wheels are not strong at all. This is the worst kind of breakage .. the supporting spokes just not holding up to the impact. I unfortunately fell into the trap of buying expensive wheels that I thought were strong when they weren't, just expensive wheels from Malaysia that looked good but that's it. I hit 2 pot holes and had then repaired and finished twice until I was on a trip to wellington and clipped a curb (my own fault) the wheel just bent. After that I bought forged wheels. Had all of the same issues again accept the wheels didn't even flinch. If you think about it, your wheels are a very structural part of your car. There are too many road hazards out there to gamble it away on badly made wheels and roll the dice that you and others who have made the mistake ignorantly coming for a ride come out of it alive. I know that sound all a bit melodramatic. But this and many other examples I've seen go through rays' shop have opened my eyes a little bit more over the years.

    Weekend Car - M3

Make sure its at least a dual action polisher with good speed settings as normal rotary polishers will burn lens plastic very easily ... and its a bitch to restore it afterwards too.

  18. Yeah, its cool ... I have a few vocal techniques I get singers to do which help. Picked up quite a few tips from the various people I have worked with over the years. I was trying a few things myself the other day I can cant believe how much my upper neck muscles have lost their 'clench' power for those stronger high ranges.
