The throttle position sensor is only a 5 volt linear potentiometer. The DME will 0 its position when you power on the DME as 0% throttle. Mechanically the throttle is open. Anything over 90% is open loop as far as the DME is concerned.

Prototype #2 is now ready and as far as the programming almost all features are functional. Still have to program and sort out the hardware for the shift lights ... will probably also use a photo sensor to dynamically adjust brightness .. as the super bright clear LEDs are f**kin bright .. work great in sun light though And here is some of the output from my dyno pulls a few weeks back

Hmmm seems hes using Ollie's wifes' old photos with genuine LMs on it but the ad says he has fake LMs on it instead ...

The car is ollies (hi-tek's) old car .. he restored it from standard. The seats are Genuine OE M3 EVO III Recaro SR2's that came with the car rom japan. Ollie had them recovered by Retro vehicle enhancements. Nice to see the LMs are with the car again. (I think as these were sold separately to the car when he moved it on as the new owner hated them :/ )

I just indicate and come across these days .. They eventually move The art is giving them plenty of warning and not looking at them. Never been tooted at as most people get that the situation leaves no other choice.

Sad to hear bud .. but totally understand the need to get some life goals ticked off, congrats on getting married, some of the best times in your life I reckon! . Just bought a house myself and the e30 survived that luckily. Hopefully not too long till your next mint BMW Looking forward to see what you get next!

Youre not doing it right ... switch off DSC, left foot brake stand to balance and mash the pedal .. = 11s The main problem in an e39 is once you start going sideways its aint no 3 series .. hard to stop the slide with its aircraft carrier spec ass swing

There are quite a few great Motorsport doccos around. Check out BMW 24 hours close -- its pretty cheap to rent at a few bucks to rent on vimeo. http://vimeo.com/51429965 And both of the Audi in truth 24 hour films http://truthin24.com/trailer

So what does that have exactly to do with this thread?

Interesting show case for Bilstein's new adaptive IRC suspension

Its the Americans .. they're a confused bunch when it comes to 5lug conversions. I even piped up a post from a long time ago which turned into the definitive 5lug discussion only to find that even people who where suppose to be experienced in conversions where spreading wrong information. I corrected them on my own experiences only to have them cry BS. Unfortunately there are a lot of arm chair modifiers out there who hear things on the net get it wrong and re tell stories. The worst thing is they sound like they know what they're talking about. Also e30s are a dieing breed as other countries make it hard to own older cars so the modifications have stopped and there for the threads have started to disappear.

The only thing holding me back is they're et13 .. otherwise they would be on the e30 a long time a go. m-coupe rear setup says no
-
it says R18 on the tyre .. pretty sure they're 18's

Sit down sunshine.. Ray is only trying to educate people of the realities of cheap copy wheels. thats it. Some of us have had a lot of first had experience with the problem and are only sharing what happens ... no need for the shitty unfounded finger pointing. You're guaranteeing nothing when you dont know the story behind this vehicle.

New(ish) to NZ, rekindling relationship with BMW...

Welcome, Yeah .. I worked for Telecom and was part of the layoffs in May .. fun times for a month or two but managed to find a position in an area inside Telecom I've been wanting to move into for a long time. The opportunity even turned into a step up in job so all good. Not having work or instability sucks .. especially when your looking to sort out your life plans. So I feel for ya!. Did you end up at Genesis ? there were a lot of positions in Hamilton that the company was struggling to fill for a while. It was earlier a tough market for a while. -
Really ..... really ??? There are sooooooo many shitty little cars on the road with this for rear suspension. Lift off over steer and understeer sh*t boxes. They all claim "5 star" safety ratings because they have Electronic Stability Control to get around bad design. Not saying everything is a race car, but beam axle is the devil.

Spotted this on Saturday New 435i

Measure the voltage with a multimeter when you have the car up to temperature and see what it reads. If you have the problem you'll be reading over 200-300 millivolts .. if you dont it shouldn't be more than 100-150mv or 0.1 - 0.15v I had 0.5v or 500mv Physically you might not know you have an issue until its too late and the damage is done. EG it attacks the brazing (welds) first so to speak then onto the other alloys.
-
Basically this can all be summed up in one sentence. "Electronic Stability Control is a free pass for bad suspension design and tire choice" Apply that to the problem and the true nature of the problem comes to light.

cheers Atta, yeah thinking about doing the same in the expansion tank... mind popping up a photo of the brass sacrificial anode ?

Good to see Tim doing power skids ... -
Don't need to, its leaking (seeping) already out of the multiple brazing points from the core fins to the end tanks. If it was a broken weld it would be in one point only. The way I have it setup its impossible for a twisted frame as well. too much rubber baffling. Once I put the new one in Ill do up a little post with some images and videos of the whole thing.

Joe I think you have been dealing with partial alloy radiators and mainly alloy block cars? Chemically the antifreeze coolant ive been using is probably no where as good ph balamced as the Oem stuff. Also full of dye. I do know that previously the difference has been the water I have used.
-
I understand I have a different than normal setup. Iron block and alloy radiator. Interesting about the temp thing causing more of the reaction. Thanks ron that explains a lot actually. Again .. data logging will show all here including when the thermostat opens, should register a exponential rise in voltage at the point of open.
