As much as i'm not a fan of their build quality and engineering .. they really serve a purpose and it will be a shame, but yeah .. people have more or less moved on. But then a lot can be said about other car brands too. Its a shame for sure.

Cool, you'll want Ellerslie, St Heliers, Kohimarama,Mt Eden, Medow bank areas as other suggested .. will be in your price range and what you're most likely after.

anyways .... Auckland would believe has a ton to offer. You'll learn the peak hours for traffic and how to get around that by just travelling smarter. Otherwise its as easy as welly to get around. I've lived everywhere in Auckland, and the one place I like and still like the most is the shore. It has the beaches which are nice after work. Thats my personal preference though. Property prices, ahh yes ... So I have just spent the last 8 months of my life living and breathing the Auckland property market until I found what I was looking for and bought. I was in the 500-600 bracket .. EG first home bracket. This is where you'll start to find the prices that are now not over inflated because of the LVR restrictions. Anything in the 650+ is fair game because the 20%+ equity crowd are still buying and so good houses are selling, this is backed up by stats from our financial planners. Houses that people want too much money for or are shitty aren't really selling, don't believe the BS in the news for the 1 or 2 one offs that reach silly prices ... maybe in hipster town aye Jooles (it's ok .. I use to be one of those too, now i'm not cool as i'm over 35) I have a fairly balanced view on Auckland, I was raised in the South Island and lived in Auckland the other half. As much as the rest of country gives us sh*t, Aucklanders actually don't care evcen though for some reason the rest of the country thinks we do. So don't worry about ya mates giving ya stick. Once youre up here .. youll get it Oh yea, we actually have car washes and other 1st world amenities.

Know of an AKL tire/brake specialist open 31/12 or 01/01/14?

Kind of staying out of this ... but have seen the people who want everything for f**kall all of the time with nothing coming back the other direction. And yeah Tom you're right, they don't last long and do get a reputation pretty quick among shops. They then wonder why they get the cold shoulder all the time. The unofficial shitlist does exist. -
enjoy ... turn it up.

Great looking car ... one question .. is it road legal / registered in NZ. I noticed it say expired. One of you carjam guys will be able to tell. If so that about a good a price as its going to get if there is no rust. Last time I saw a price like that was when Hi-tek bought his old one for 22k

It cant hold a charge because there is no cathode or anode by shorting it. The charge is what initiates the electrolysis reaction converting iron into iron oxide. No charge = no chemical reaction possible. eg no where for electrons to flow, or simply putting it there isn't an environment anymore for it to build up a charge. Measured the coolant, measured at the radiator and ground points and measured at the block and ground points. I think you are confusing voltage and current. Load will dip voltage and drain current. What is happening is if it does build up voltage it is expelled very quickly with the earth strap connected because of the above. Ideally you want to ground it to the battery as the chassis does hold an amount of resistance between the ground point from the radiator and battery ground point in my case the boot as e30 325's do. The only potential difference is between these two ground points. It is very minimal and within the design parameters of a standard vehicle 12 volt system.

Apparently the Beisan guys contacted BMW about correcting their mistakes in the use of a rubber compound that goes hard over time. They got it all the way up to the head of engineering. Then they got word that it wasnt going to happen. This is how Beisan started its product line. There was a thread several years ago about it in bimmerforums I think it was.

Very nice car ... Not to sure about the auto and modded m62tu though.. Think I would personally prefer a s62 manual version like the earlier model.

I dial up the cruise control ... sit on 80kph behind someone and a respectful distance for 20ks then get my chance to over take, pull out adjust to 104kph as per GPS then spend all my time over taking 1 car and jip everyone behind me because the the road train i'm following all speed up to 100 on their speedos which is still about 95 in real k/sI cant go any faster. Sound familiar ? Pretty much eaiser to get in line like everyone else and arrive 5 minutes later at the destination.

I do notice over this last few years the lowered speed tolerance has been in place the Police marketing machine goes quite when they have the worse weekends then just before they wave the flag for lower speed tolerance and go all quite when they have they have a bad one. I think if some body challenged them on it their argument of voodoo and witch craft statistics will fall to pieces pretty quick. In the short term, road toll statistics have a lot to do with a lack of luck ... and that's about it. About the only three things that are sure in the argument are vehicle capability and safety has increased and we have had a larger number of people on the roads + drink driving campaign has worked. And yeah, i'm actually one of those people who sticks to the speed limit when doing open road so this whole thing doesn't really effect me. Holiday traffic is always sh*t so all good.
