I was 15 once too don't see the point of the concrete though. Throttle control and/or better suspension and/or fatter tyres.
-
can vouch for Stephen, straight up guy to deal with, better than some random off trademe not telling you everything
-
yeah i should, but some people on my other listings i am waiting to hear from, they need to contact me via it etc
-
sell me your M50 turbo setup lol
-
Need all the bits to convert an E34 M50 to an E36 M50. may and probably will take whole E36 M50, okay if blown head gasket or whatever.
-
Got all the E34 bits that you need here like sump, dipstick and tube, different pickup, etc. May take E36 M50 parts as part trade, or maybe even a whole E36 M50... lol
-
good luck, will be surprised if they have anything! have seen a smashed up 60something and a few 106s there and thats about it over the years. there is a stock list on their website which is about 80% reliable lol

Improving on M3 suspension (E36)
_ethrty-Andy_ replied to handgrenade's topic in Brakes, Suspension & Steering
before we get too carried away, don't forget to take into account the car is probably not on a completely level surface, so measurements might not be correct. -
not surprising! bigger and better things

Plenty of E30 guys here that can help you look over any that take your fancy. pity i sold my 316i manual yesterday, you could have taken it out and see what you think. 316i are better than 318i in my opinion, because they are generally lighter as they won't have many (if any) options.
-
Pretty much! probably depends on the way you drive it, but day to day driving, i have found no difference between a 316i and a 325i etc. Having said that, all are manuals, but you won't be buying auto anyways.... will you??? by the way you will need to bring your E30 to wellington E30 performance centre most of them have been here now lol

E30 and E36 are both reliable and cheap to maintain, and both are not complex, so you can get your hands dirty fine, and they will forgive your mistakes etc. don't be put off by the 6 cylinders of either, they are just as cheap on both maintenance and fuel as the 4 cylinders, although avoid 320i of both types if possible. E34 is another good option, a bit bigger, definitely safer, but of course a bit heavier on the gas bill. No more complex though. Would avoid E46 and E39 onwards if money is going to be super tight. Yes they are newer, in theory less to go wrong, but often doesn't work out that way, and parts are a lot more when they do go wrong.

Planning project, Need some clarification. M50B25 E30
_ethrty-Andy_ replied to tima's topic in General Discussion
probably the easiest way is to buy an E34 525i as a donor, you need much more E34 parts than you do E36 parts, and the E34 parts are harder to find in the first place. Having said that, I have just got some E34 parts in like the sump, dipstick etc, and could part with them, as the engine will be going in an E36 not an E30. -
im kinda a porsche guy and wouldn't have noticed either! are the parts really that cross compatible still??? i knew they were back in the 1960s-70s-80s, one look at Magnus Walkers stuff tells you that!
-
i have about 3 spark lug sockets for that size here, come and take one away (though i know you can get from your work haha)
-
Definitely Overdue! Someone else can organise this time ;P

They are in Wingate, about 10 minutes from my house. A contact number will be on their website you can find on google. But as good as the two girls out the front are, they don't know much about cars at all, especially euros etc. If you are going to ask them what they have etc, forget it! $2 entry fee, like disney land. and if you find something you like, you take it off yourself, pay the fees (of course, you are saving paying any yardmen labour etc), so you can get some real steals.

one seat taken, need one more!
-
good score!
-
that is a lot of car for the money!
-
^does that fold down? have you tried screwing it into your E30 or E36? will possibly take it

Mercedes specialist in Central or South Auckland?
_ethrty-Andy_ replied to jjs's topic in Other European Cars
Doesn't Glenn do Mercedes too? Cant imagine an early 80s Mercedes would be too hard to do yourself mind you, won't be very complex etc -
i approve of this post
-
bump! please don't make me have to part it out! ha
-
E30/E36 etc all the same thread, though the round part is slightly different so technically not the same, but yep cross compatible
