Did you watch the video? The German type ones are made in the same way that the genuine government issued german (and other european countries) ones are, using the same equipment. they are NOT a regular sticker, they are applied using some thermal tape type stuff you can see in the video. there is no chance it can go on crooked etc.. Way back in 2010, there were quality issues with the NZ reps ONLY. after a few batches not up to my standard, i get the stickers made here and put them on myself. They are properly scanned or however they do it off my set of Genuine plates.co.nz ones. THERE ARE NO ISSUES NOW or in the past couple years etc, and if anyone does loose a sticker etc, happy to send out another one.

I have never heard of this, cant find anything on google, and both a Porsche reference book i have here and Wikipedia tells a completely different story with not a single mention of BMW

if investment/resale really came into it, the only option would be the S70 powered 850CSi, which arent as hard to find as you might think, they do come up on trademe from time to time etc.

an 840i is probably the logical better choice than the V12 from an economic point of view, history not tooooo critical, plenty of M60/M62 sitting around out of wrecked 540 and 740i etc if worst came to the worst. but an 850i.....the sound of that V12 makes it all worth it i assure you! If you do get a V12, history is very important, or budget about 2-3k and just overhaul the whole engine. they are really no harder to work on than a little M20 really. Any BMW V12 isnt the "thinking mans" choice of engine, but sometimes we do irrational things! but regardless if you get an 830i 840i 84(4)i or 850i, parts ARE going to be hard to come by like panels, interior bits etc, and you WILL be importing bits from overseas etc.

google it, there is a setting on most of the stereos from about this age onwards for changing the settings to "oceania"

dont let a towbar be pivotal on the car you choose if you are gettting a BMW wagon, they arent wrecked much, so if you want leather seats, you will need to buy one with leather seats, etc etc. any touring specific bits need to be in good condition or you will need to learn to live with them as you wont be replacing those bits etc.

upload can be temperamental here at the best of times any rate. Best to host offsite like photobucket.com and then link it to here using tag. (you are forgiven if there is too much jargon in that sentence ha)

looking forward to some pictures! even if it is stock!

Yes well said. havent driven either, but i would bank on the run to Auckland from here being much more pleasent in a 190E 2.5-16 Cosworth than a E30 M3
-
welcome welcome! the V8 530 or I6 530?
-
I used to have a 190E, little baby 2.0L auto, and sluggish, but that aside, the drive was very good, much better and seemed more spacious than an E30, even though they are about the same size.
