You dont need 95% of the equipment and features in a modern 7 Series. Its all weight though. Tech is just getting so stupid now they have had to make an even bigger car to fit all that crap in, which means a bigger engine to pull it.

yes, on these old pre-CANBus DMEs you will just to make the DME think it is in neutral (as opposed to Drive or what have you) so you can start it, usually just a case of cutting and/or joining a few wires together. I dont have a M42 wiring chart, but the M42 engine came out in every single E30 318i in the USA, so there are millions of manual swap threads out there that will tell you which wires to cut and/or join. Or if you cant be bothered, use a manual DME Edit: DME is same word as ECU if you didnt allready know that. Easier to know the german names for sh*t when you look at BMW stuff etc just seems to be convention of sorts

brought a 316i from some cock sucker in Hamilton and drove it home. The guy didnt think to tell me it was deregistered until i had flown up. I knew it had no WOF or reg, but didnt tell me no plates either. lucky i brought a set with me. the few goodies it did have stripped etc. Be carefull buying sh*t off Facebook lol On the bright side, its fairly tidy on the outside, cheap, and runs well ha.

washer pumps for the windows? pretty sure they are the same part front and rear, so you can use a regular E34 front one for the rear washer
