from my limited drag racing knowledge thats pretty quick especially for road tyres isn't it???

Very nice, have never driven a 6 series, defiantly looking forward to the day I do!! now you have the problem which toy to take out, the soft top or the cruiser!
-
a 325i exhaust should bolt up to 320i headers, I'm 90% sure i did that to my very first E30 when it was an M20 320i. i definitely didn't swap to a b25 exhaust manifold.

i went with a dark colour as well on my E34, but you can't go too dark, or it does just look like a black circle. this pic in M52B20 spec lol click to see it bigger

Its not a bad idea. but i would be contacting your parts people you got them off and try to get the correct part, you may even get a refund as the one you need is a simpler part?? do this before you fit them, they won't take them back once fitted!

yes very common E34 and E32 problem, possibly other BMW chassis too. replace with new, or plenty of threads about how to service them on google. Have read they can be bypassed too, but i don't see that as a solution to the problem personally

Happy to be told I'm wrong, but those should be fine for your car. I have never owned a prefacelift. You will just need to zip tie that wire up, or cut it off. Its only a coil inductor type thing, it is not electrically connected to the cable it self. but if the female side of that connector is on your car but just not currently used, it is on the front of the engine under the intake manifold, approximately on top of cylinder 1 On the other hand, contact the people you got them off, see what they say, always better to have the correct parts for you car

f**k that. Im sure you don't need me to tell you this, but take a look at what you have here. Is it worth taking a pay cut and working for a competitor and staying down here. or moving up (presumably increased pay) but a more expensive essential costs like rent travel etc. Also include non-financial costs, time to get to work, having to meet new people etc. Given the two options, what will be better. If the Auckland move is going to give you an extra $100 in your pocket after increased cost of living, would you rather "pay" $100 to stay with your friends/family/other non-financial costs etc as applicable down here.

its for spark detection, helps the DME run. something like if it doesn't pick up the spark plug firing it shuts down the engine to prevent damage. Should be connected to the lead that goes to the spark plug closest to the firewall correct? At least thats what it does on M70 which is very similar. At a guess, is your car a prefacelift? because it may not have that technology? but those are later leads like 1991 etc M20 rather than 1986 etc

i wonder what it weighs

yeap, if its an M52 still then you should be fine, if its an M54 will be a but trickier. are you planning to run it as factory complete with EWS, or do a M50/OBD1 conversion? if the latter, i have a complete E34 M50 here, its high km's so i don't think you will want to use the block (though it runs fine, its still in the car), but the sump, pickup, OBD1 conversion etc, is all there. Let me know if you want it we can figure something out.

Specific/ambitious advice needed for fitment

I totally agree with you Howard on your BBS comments, you are not alone. -
i have a pair of 325i 51mm struts here if you would rather save the headache and use the shocks you got. i hope you prove me wrong, but i don't think you will get close to what you paid for the shocks, especially when they aren't a "name brand" so might as well use them

thanks for sharing Josh i enjoyed that. long haul 2-3am drive alone with nobody else on the road and a track on the stereo much like whats in that video, Yep.

Specific/ambitious advice needed for fitment
_ethrty-Andy_ replied to Tidy30's topic in Wheels & Tyres
The back is never an issue on an E30, can fit anything you like back there. Its just the front that causes problems. Johns car is a 320i originally, so unless the larger 51mm 325i struts have been swapped in somewhere along its life, it might be the original 45mm ones. He will probably know. but a 16x9 might work while a 16x8 might not. Offset is just as important to think about. Best thing to do is to find someone with the same wheels that you want (maybe on a USA forum if you can't find anyone here) and find out how they made them work, and remember to ask what struts they are running if the car isn't a 325i -
thats a Getrag 265 as well which i think is the E30 M3 box? looks like its had a bit of abuse too. If i was going to manual convert, he would either need to drop the price, or id just get a 6 speed and mod driveshaft etc myself. Maybe get a 6 speed conversion from a US spec 540iS and then play around with the bell housing. seeing as a real 850Ci/CSi 6 speed is like beans anyways, not a priority now. moving house next weekend and i got 3 non-runner project cars already without putting the two working ones under the knife lol

in some ways, na, i like the auto and wouldn't want to pay to get rid of the benefits it has. In other ways, skids.

Know of an AKL tire/brake specialist open 31/12 or 01/01/14?
_ethrty-Andy_ replied to Tristan's topic in General Discussion
lol charging customer $35/hr, not worth the risk and admin costs employing someone if having them there makes you less than $15 an hour after wages, and then overheads got to come out of that. owner gets 50cents of that if they are lucky? not worth it. Maybe if staff are idle, but even then, still risk to factor in -
Bad Grandpa. But not in a sad way. Its really good, most of the cinema was laughing whole way through

If anyone is in need of any E46 Touring bits, there is one down at NZ Car Parts in Seaview (Wellington), silver colour Not sure how often these come up as being parted, if they are anything like E34 or E30 next to never??? Hope this helps someone

In reality, probably still won't ticket you if you are going 109 its very hard to prove, and the tolerances on their own gear do not allow for 4km/h, that is only walking speed, very hard to pick up on a machine 500m away. But these low tolerances are the reason i brought my Valentine One. If they didn't have these "hits" it would be one less reason to buy one, and id probably get tickets for time to time as well instead of never.

Fast and the Furious. E39 M5, and yes some of them are just 528i in the race/damage scenes, but at least one of them is a real E39 M5
