to clarify, a normal WOF is not that extensive. only the initial compliance. a normal WOF is a visual inspection only. you can move the car from compliance area etc and bring it "into the country", its your car. but to get it road legal it has to be complied first. For example, there is a compliance center in the middle of my town which is nowhere near any ports etc. you would have to put it on a car trailer etc. E: You definately wont have any trouble bringing this car into the country. they have started tightening down the loop holes, but the CSi will be fine. Ci and i probably wouldnt be allowed, nor 840's

where to buy good price standard shocks?
_ethrty-Andy_ replied to lightshine's topic in Brakes, Suspension & Steering
$350ish is about right for brand new non-trade pricing. budget for that again if your getting them fitted professionally instead of DIY -
yeah Lance pinched the console out it for me. found the one i had was faulty which was half the problem we had. other half was the blower fan actually jammed so had to swap heater units. i would never have forgiven myself if i had damaged the nice blue interior in that car though. didnt have time when i was up anyways. spent Saturday sorting out the wipers and a few other small jobs, and all day sunday removing dash swapping heater units bleeding etc. didnt leave Auckland till 6.30pm on Sunday. got back home here 2.30am on Monday damn should have asked around, just assumed noone would have one, cant be many E34 LHD around. have already ordered LHD console off a chap on Bimmerfest.com

i think i have solved this problem! its amazing, you think about if there is any other ways around the problem. can i move the heater box to the right? no. okay so the head unit has to go left. cant because the OBC is there. BRAINWAVE heaps of room behind the OBC, so going to import a centre panel from the USA. they are LHD so everything is back to front, with the OBC on the right and the stereo on the left. hopefully this works.... but keep the suggestions coming if you have any -

yep but just cheaper/easier to buy a whole car. also shows me how stuff supposed to go together etc need things like interior clips, glovebox bracket, R/R door switch holder etc. and a few outside bits too And good to have a parts car anyway they are good for storage lol

just want a parts car, need a few things and cheaper/less time consuming to just buy a whole car. anyone got a non-runner maybe dented up etc E34 in wellington region? will go as far as Palmy depending on price. any e34 any year/engine/colour etc etc considered.

Cheaper in the long run to buy new mate. Dont forget to change rotor at same time as changing cap

the E60 aren't too bad, but i dont like thier rear lights. if they insist on having them sweep round like that, should have pulled them back a bit more like the E39 etc
-

-

Question - Pre-purchase inspection in Wellington
_ethrty-Andy_ replied to kratosnz's topic in General Discussion
I have never used them but they have a glowing reputation, probably the biggest/most well known BMW indy specialist down here -
If your buying one make sure you get the clips that go with it, they dont screw in like other trim panels and specific to that part
