  1. yes they do! thought about doing the silver/black treatment that E30 M20 owners often do, but google pictures look crap. not sure what to do about that! And sure, ill bring a BMW this time
  2. finding a job where you get up in the morning and look forward to going to work are hard to find! i love mine too! A mate of mines parents have an RS6 Wagon. sounds tits but yet to acquire a ride let alone a drive lol.
  3. are you saying the E30 column is longer? because that would explain why my Tech2 wheel which is ex E30 and now in my touring sort of scrapes/whines a bit but very quietly when I'm turning either direction. whats the solution?
  4. wont that be a BMW if its 2005? im not quite sure on the changeover date
  5. How do you 'not remember' something like that? I dont remember where i put my keys, but i don't sink several grand into a keyring
  6. bump, two interested, but as yet unspoken for! If you can show me im off with the pricing let me know
  7. what are you saving that by not shopping with Gavin? you might save $10 or $20 in my experience but your not helping out the local guy and your waiting at least a week for your parcel. $20 is worth different things to different people i guess. not trying to be a d*ck.
  8. since when can you upload videos to trademe?
  9. i can think of better ways to test if it has an LSD in the rain
  10. Im not 100% on either the springs or the shocks, but the previous owner told me they were Vogtland springs and Koni Shocks and i never found a reason to say otherwise. shocks seem to be in good condition, my touring handled very well on them, not overly stiff, but good rebound etc. was not all juddery and hard like most lowered cars are, you couldn't tell that car or a standard E34 apart in a straight line while riding etc. suit 6 cylinder so 520i 525i and 535i will physically bolt up to M60 cars, but probably too low spring rate. here is picture of them in my touring for what its worth. bear in mind this car is heavier in the back than a sedan because of being touring, and lighter in the front because these photos have an M52 (aluminium block) not the M50 that will be in yours. so id expect a bit of rake back the opposite way in a sedan. none on trademe so a bit hard to price so lets say $400 ono, and are currently in Auckland. may also fit E32????
  11. if 60mm is a standard size, you should be able to get them from mag and turbo or tonys tyres or beurepairs etc. or are they honda fitment 4x100? etc
  12. hey guys, not my thing but was there today and noticed an E38 there, i didn't check what engine it had because bonnet was jammed down but looks like the LWB model so probably M60. was i think what they call champagne/bronzit and tan leather interior. they would have paid 1/1000th of what it was 15 years ago, scary eh!
  13. well theres nothing else to do in Palmy so....
  14. common guys they came on a car that is at least 20 years old now, your not going to get new unless you buy new. simple.
  15. i wouldn't have RS's on my E30s either, but then i dont like those racing dynamics either ha. haters gon hate?
  16. a very cool Mtech 2 E30 wagon in Petone!
  17. Cool! i really like Volvos, i think im a bit wierd. Strangley enough, i found the dealership to be the cheapest place for gaskets and stuff for my 940 Turbo i used to have. they could beat the independent places in price, and also about 25 minutes from my house at the time. certainly not like BMW prices. but then every model is probably different
  18. havent read all the other posts but in relation to E30 specifically NZ New obviously first, dont know why, theres just something about that tag. typically lower spec than UK and SA cars, but usually have better history SA woud be next. extra rust proofing from the factory, and typically higher spec than other ones with leather seats OBC metal air box long range fuel tank etc. UK cars can be okay, ive owned several UK E30s, and my current E34 Touring is a UK import. mind you, they have all been imported into NZ within 3 years of being sold new. My opinion on the UK rust issue is largely a case of coincidence. Just as many NZ New or Jap ones rust out. pretty rare to find a rusty SA car though, as i say they had extra rust proofing from the factory because of the climate. Jap cars avoid like the plauge. the wiring is substandard quality in them, and their odos are almost always useful for telling the interval between oil changes and thats it. Plus they have map writing everywhere, small number plate surrounds, and are typically less looked after than the alternatives. When looking for rust on these cars, the three most common spots to look are around the rear taillights (most E30s will still be on their original taillight gaskets which are long since perished), sunroof panel and assay if fitted, and on the firewall particularly around the battery tray. not uncommon to find around the front windscreen/scuttle covers either. if theres nothing in these places its pretty likely to be 100% rust free. Ive had 12 E30s now, with at least two from each country, so i hope im pretty rounded in my opinion!
  19. i have a 6 or so pairs, cant remember if they are E30 or E34, will have a look tomorrow.
