you could try some of the larger BMW wreckers in NZ if they have the missing parts, they are all forum sponsors here, but if they dont have it or are unwilling to split then you're a bit stuck. but put it this way, i dont think id ever buy an incomplete kit. edit: typo

just put it in your kettle if it is a flat bottom type. normal hot water out your tap wont be hot enough. these beasts open between 80 and 100 degrees C, your tap will be around 40-50

possibly? im not too sure, i always thought it was cream. is there a different? running the VIN on Brendans iX will tell you if your interested, my interior came from that car. it was originally cloth in mine.

Got a set of retrimmed E34 M5/540iS/535iS etc motorsport seats as per picture below. trouble is, they aren't cream leather to match my interior, so will be getting pulled apart and recovered again. Can anyone make use of these ones and ill have your ripped ones? or better still, anyone got cream leather ones? on these ones, i believe most of the fabric is original with no wear, the ass has been replaced and i suspect the ass side bolsters also, its in a slightly different fabric, but at the end of the day much better than your current ripped ones. they are also non electric. been stashed in my shed for about a year or so now, but i still cant bring myself to wreck these. they are non-electric, all manual adjustments seem to work fine etc. would like to swap for the same, dont want electric ones please, unless they are already the cream leather. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=542249284 if you want them outright, or swap plus reasonable offer for the convenience etc. North Island is fine, I'm often covering it.

E30 Brake Booster/Master Cylinder Replacement
_ethrty-Andy_ replied to APT's topic in Brakes, Suspension & Steering
all made by the same crowd anyway, Alto or something like that. a bit like transmissions, my Volvo 940 Turbo had the exact same ZF transmission as my E34 520i -
Yep, Lithium Ion which is the lightest mass produced battery type compared to charge held is very expencive to produce, and there isn't enough Li readily available. if cars start using it too, then prices will sky rocket. would make some very poor countries currently become the new UAE though. from my point of view, the only answer beyond petrol i can see is hydrogen. but there is enough dinosaurs to last the next 100 years at least anyway, its all just marketing.

slipping in BMW transmissions of this era is usually just the fluid being low, does yours have an engine bay dipstick?

They are a good car, have a workmate that has one. You just need to choose carfully though, because they are on the edge between normal car and flatpeak pantsdownlow car

could be the oiler bar that lubes the cams has become blocked, quite a common SOHC issue, im not sure if the M40 is exempt or not. My 316i does the same thing

This thread has been quiet! everyone taking a break? i spent all day on BMs today after a sleep in because of last night. Got most of the wiring in the E34 finished up, did the heater blower and stereo essentials done. im still chasing why the wipers do not work any longer (they did initially and got a WOF working!). That, the courtesy interior lights, and plugging the amps, subs and caps in the back are the only things left to sort out wohoo! All of the cabin interior is back together save for a few bits here and there that have gone missing. It actually looks like an E34 in there now On the E30, replaced the odd interior screw that has gone missing over the years, and now that car is almost good as new again! And then a mate brought his E46 over and finally sorted out the airbag light thats been giving greif for the past 3 months. too much fun for one day. lol.

my thoughts exactly, i wonder how much work to do on a E39. the E34 would be a pain to do that swap, not just a case of swapping engines over.
