not really.. im not brilliant with engine diagnostics. my guess would be your ICV or your TPS sensors but someone more knowledgable on the topic will chime in. I really only posted in this thread to tell you about the fan thing

fairly easy and straight forward as long as you have a mentor who has done it before. as far as best engine goes, probably an S50B32, but good luck finding one. M52 is probably the best bang for buck in an e30, though im biased

1) this is a typical side effect of having a lightweight flywheel, though someone might be able to offer suggestions to smooth it a bit 2) dont run the viscous fan, just use the factory E30 aircon fan running off an E36 318i/ti temp sensor (commonly called a 88*C sensor) 3) dunno

you also need E36 mounting arms and E34 dipstick and tube if you dont already have them

I think youll find a hard time coming up with an E28 M3.... the E28 is a five series. you need any E28 mounts provided its from an M30 or S38 engined E28. you dont HAVE to get a Mk2 Golf booster, there are plenty of VW/Audi/Porsche group options. For example i used a Porsche 944 booster. Also long as the brand is Alto (or something like that) and is smaller than your e30 booster it should work. M40 = M42 if both E30s, but M42 E30s are rare in this part of the world You need custom headers, or have the OEM ones bent and lengthened. Exhaust itself must be 100% custom. sorting out what gearbox you are going to use is just as important as the rest of it, as in itself creates issues, such as which driveshaft and selectors to use. and thats not as straightforward as you might think

my contact tells me he is waiting on the stickers and he will be shipping them monday next week his time (so monday night for us) so you and the plates should be arriving back in the country about the same time anyway. btw will someone be at the address you provided to sign for them though? i saw a few of the long-tail boats in Thailand used those amoung many other engines. i didnt realise they were actually realised by BMW as a marine engine though! for the record they sound crap with no mufflers and swear im still deaf from them....

I kind of agree. Its a bit of a wasted exercise if you currently have an M20B25 in which case the minor increase in power to the M50 isnt worth it imo. but if you currently have an M40 or a m20b20 then they above is rubbish, an M50b25 will be well worth it. there is virtually no extra effort in going for an M52 though, and with prices similar to the M50, you would be silly to go the M50 route unless you already had the engine.

Okay so both of my taillights on the boot are spidered out with age so i sourced some replacements, one second hand and the other brand new from the stealer (seriously... you dont want to know what i paid...). So now that i have them side by side the second hand one obviously looks slightly duller.... anyone know what I can do to make the plastic clearer again? wet sand prehaps? ill test anything i try on the older spidered ones first, but there must be some way i can even them up?

i got a quote for all the trim on my E34 mid last year and it was going to come in at just over $700+GST...
