a dude rocking a Penny-Farthing along the Porirua-Paekakariki motorway..... wtf!?
-
check the fusebox has the metal pins where the relay is supposed to go. it may be that someone has wired them up aftermarket and not used the OEM way. where do the wires at the back of the fogs go to?
-
seems to me like E36 compacts are the next big thing
-
If the e34 hex tool works you can have my one, my car doesnt even have weaves not sure why it came with it. Pm me
-
havent got time to do full reply, but in 9 cases out of ten, forward or rear facing is pretty much the same, and a lot better than side to side. the case that arent are your 750iL's that have square boots and also tourings/wagons/hatches

are there wires going to the back of your foglights? i would put money on your car not being wired for them and someone just putting the fog lenses in there for looks. ALL e30s with front foglights have the two button switch, and there shoul dbe a relay in the fusebox. Noone would remove the relay and pull and replace the switch.

Agreed, and your not alone. BMW knew they ballsed up at the start of production too, it was one of the rare occassions that they put the price of an E38 up just before it ended as people were flocking to buy one before they would only be able to by that e65. usually they put the price down to claer stock and make way for the new. -
agreed if using factory shocks. 51mm makes your aftermarket range a lot better in both price range and performance

Got an M52B20 in auckland already, if anyone is after one let me know. Done approx just over 60,000kms, Brand new waterpump too Will come with as new radiator, hoses etc M50 intake/throttle/ecu etc conversion so no EWS to bother about Ex 97 E36 320i which was rear ended early 2000s at around 40,000 and written off, then was put into my good wagon by previous owner. The original car was NZ new and brought originally by the previous owner to me, and my wagon was imported by the same guy, so somewhat of an enthusiest, and then me who is the same. Only reason engine now pulled out again is to make room for the bigger and better. has been sitting for two months so will fire right up. just before this it drove from welly to taupo, out for the trackday (which is the first abuse that engine has EVER seen i gaurentee to you, and even then theres only so much you can do with a 2000cc), and then from there up to auckland where it got removed. I will personally gaurentee the engine is good if installed by a BMW specialist shop or dealership also have good transmission too, done 170 miles if needed for the gocart project you will use this engine for throw price at me and see what i say Andy 0273079322 [email protected], no PMs please

For sale is my E34 daily wagon. 1992 BMW E34 525iA Touring We are in the process of buying a van for work so i now really have no need for this vehicle now, even though it was brought for work! I havent had it long but its served me well in the time ive had it. brought it off Brent's mate Brendan not long ago, who has heaps of E34s and E34 touring, so has been looked after mechanically, and is very sound underneath, even if it doesnt look great. Good - Brilliant Usable Shape!!!!!!! No stupid E30 T-Shape rear tailgate - Replaced engine with a lower kms M50B25 one, dont have reciepts though as done by previous owner. I would take his word for it. - Brand new brake disks and pads up front - Had oil and filter change a month or two back - Transmission oil done less than a year ago - VTNZ warrent two weeks ago, only failed on front tyres so replaced them, therefore... - Goodyear tyres all road good condition probably at least 5mm on all of them - All electrics work - Replaced Headunit with sony xplod item. Is a brilliant unit have had it in 4 of my cars, but this time it can go with the car - Replaced fuel pump with an OEM bmw one and new bosch filter, new hoseclamps and rubber fuel lines and all that stuff, has made a big difference to preformance. - Shocks all round are very hard - Trans is excellent, shifts well. - Could throw in a set of roof racks too seeing as i didnt pay for them, but might keep them for the van if they fit that. Also have a BMW towbar currently fitted which may be negotiable - Rego up to date, think it expires in feb - Starts first time every time, but... The Bad - ....does surge a bit on initial start up, but sorts itself out after maybe 10 fluctuations, but you bring the rpm up to 1500 and hold it for a bit your good. not sure why to be honest. - Interior has seen better days, though backseats are really good, probably been folded down its whole life, certainly since ive owned it - Boot lid sensor is dodgy, means it always says bootlid is open, even when its not. not worth fixing.... - the paint is peeling in places - drips a drop or two after driving, but what early 90s bmw doesnt? Havent had to fill again since i did oil change 2 months or so ago, and still way over half full, covers at least 6-700km/week - black bonnet and blue wheels (both rattle canned) - back right window only goes up to an inch away from the top, i know what the issue is its just a plastic clip broken, not touring specific though which is good, even though doors are - its not a 540i.. I can deliver to Auckland in the new year or maybe just after christmas for gas funds and at a time that suits my work commitments (ie when i make myself become quiet) as have to go up there at some stage anyway. Can deliver elsewhere if you can get me either home or to auckland as well as pay gas etc Is really ideally suited to someone who wants a solid workhorse, or something just to beat around in. But with a respray and some carpet shampoo, its not beyond restoration either as mechanicals are great looking for $3k ono, which, if im not beating about the bush basically means i will let it go for 2500, but no lower. Will get photos up sunday Andy, 0273079322 or [email protected], (please no PMs, i hate them)

Interiors are A++++++ Exterior F---------- hate the look of every single one of his exterior car designs, including that fiat. ......IMHO -
In your case jcerecke, you can only have a maximum of 8 forward facing lights. You have to have two parks and two normal beams, and then you can have a pair of fogs or spots and then another pair of fogs or spots and thats it. So if you have four spots you cant have any fogs etc. at least thats what vtnz told me after i did this anyways

I was thinking that price only with a 1 in front of it? That IS a steal for the amount of work!

Oh and will need to know tonight so i cant let them know to make them up when i visit tomorow.

I have some spacers that dont have hubcentric rings on the wheel side so im getting some cylinders made up that can be pressed into the spacers. They will effectively be 72.5mm cylinders and are pressed into your spacers half way, so you have a lip for your wheels to mount onto, while maintaining room to fit spacers over you hubs. Will not be welded as not necessary as pressure fitted, and are tapered to a very very small degree. All drawn up by qualified engineers etc etc not a home job. BMW sizes only (72.5mm), cant be bothered organising them for your nissan or whatever. You could then use nylon hubcentric adaptors if you have non-oem bmw wheels with a larger hub centerbore on the rim THIS IS A REQUIREMENT FOR YOUR SAFTEY AND ALSO FOR CERT/WOF If anyone else wants in let me know. You will need to send your spacers to me so they can press them in. Price for a set of 4 is between 160 and 180, and 100 for a pair.

Definatley wont work. I tried. Custom build unfortunatley

I will disagree with you ron on this last point. It can be the car. Both my wagons hit the abs whenever they want to, ones on potenza re001s and the other is on goodyear middle-of-the-road tyres, formerly on bridgestones. For me the particular case is on speedbumps. Even that tiney difference in speed going over them is enough to make the car go to hell and the abs to kick in

i dont think a one size fits all approach is quite right. take for example a mid 90s corolla and an e32 750iL. both have 15" rims and run fairly similar sized widths. but a tyre that works on one is inappropriate for the other. you dont NEED $250 bridgestone potenza RE001 tyres on a 90kw corolla, but you need something a bit better than linglong on a vehicle with 300 or more horse behind it. I was at a tyre shop today (wont name it) and actually asked them that question so i could contribute to this thread. 'would you be happy to sell a budget brand crap tyre to someone with a V8 merc?'. i was cautios to not say would you sell, as i knew that answer was yes as well. the reply i got was 'we are happy to meet the customers needs for price', and if they say they only want cheap tyres then thats all they will buy. He also said that on average every 4th person through the shop just wants something cheap because they are selling the car. makes you wonder whether people are justifying it to themselves to buy crap. I have done it too but only if i had the genuine intention......

i just want to punch people that have no concept of saftey. i mentioned to my flatmate at the time that i got new tyres costing 250 each, he said wow cool mine were lik $69. then i notice a few days later ALL four corners had a different tyre on, and said he just got whatever was cheapest the tyre shops like tonys and all that should be the people that are educating. how can a car with different tread and type on all four corners be safe? he does sh*t loads of milage and easily goes through a set of tyres or two between WOFs. the reality is, 'that car' would have been able to go around 'that bend' quite happily at 130km/h had it had decent tyres on it. but because it had substandard tyres with different patterns in each corner and blown shocks (all items not checked in warrents), it fell into a ditch killing x amount of people. you can factor driver error and all the other excuses you like, but you dont see racing drivers attacking corners on $69 linglongs
