do a skid.... in 6th gear

As with any car but especially BMW, manuals are much better and quicker. That experience is based on my ownership of both a 525i Auto versus a 525iX Manual, the latter being the much heavier 4x4 and it still felt much quicker. I have priced a few manual conversions for my daily and tend to be around the 1k area including a stuffed clutch etc, so more cash on top of that, tho thats M50. Not sure if M30 are more or less common in manual than that. Imo if you want a manual I would just wait it out, E34 manual aren't common, but can be found. Trademe isnt always the best place to look either

have cleared cookies after i read post last night and it seems to have fixed it, it hasnt crashed again, but i was only on it for 5 minutes or so. Ill update software also

bit of an odd one here. The last week or so, trademe has been crashing my browser. it will open up but as soon as i click search on something, it dies and doesnt respond so i have to forcequit and restart the browser. I can access it from other computers and my iPad at home so no issue with the modem or anything. Am using Safari on my iMac. doesnt make a difference if i use firefox instead. all other websites that i use work fine (hotmail, bimmersport/fest, facebook, asb etc) anyone run into this issue before?

i say keep the chrome. my wagon has dark wheels but chrome window surroundings too

it will either be the sensor plug on the diff or there is a fault along those wires leading to it that is grounding out the wire

keen to see fitment in the car! took my daily for a warrent, failed on a tyre, and they recommended i replaced the tierods soon. cheap round this time, i dont think ive ever been so close to passing a warrent first time! Edit on 19/11/11: Now featuring a working stereo! exciting haha

i looked at trading my e30 for a merdeux i few years back but e30 handles just as well and a lot more practicle. ended up keeping the bm they do sounds fantastic though, and definately get the turbo if you do go that route, the N/A ones are a wet blanket

im not sure if they are NZ wide or wellington only, but we get them to deliver and collect pallets from aux all the time so probably nzwide

Ive had them all, obviously my twincam was the best E30, but my 318i manual was the next best, enjoyed it much more that the 325i, for some reason the 325i feels strange to me. obviously quicker though. This assumes that any 318i you look at has a 4.1 diff or higher btw

this came to one of the Welly meets we had a while back, looks to be in quite nice condition, and that exhaust wasnt actually very loud at all. might have had more work since then though. As for stupid mods, i dont see any beyond personal touches. No electric turbos or anything

did you ring Hans? try Phillips and O'Brien, they offer a door to door service. If your getting something cheaper than around the $80 mark then good luck you finding anything cheaper than that. Maybe if the seller packed up and everything you would but not door to door packaged etc

If you are using the radiator that i sent you it already has the temp sender that brent is talking about FYI

rule out getting a 320i, go for either a 318i or a 325i. The 320i is the worst of the lot all the weight of the 325i without the balls to pull it so economy is crap. only time 320i are good is in the raceseries were economy doesnt matter as much

how are you finding doing the M50 conversion on a prefacelift car? Its well worth it though youll have fun! even more than me seeing as your coming from an M10!

Picked up an E30 wreck, actually only brought the car predominantly for the fact it had a tech2 steering wheel. where is the best place to get it recovered with leather, and will I loose the ///M badge on it if I do? its not at desperation point yet, but will need to be done. Also, is it sacrilege to get it covered in cream leather rather than black? tentative decision on that experience stories preferred. thanks

Not sure if the bulbs in them are still working, but they look good and there is no rattle from cracked innards. In fact probably the best condition fogs ive come across in E30 wrecks 50 each, or 80 for pair. will come with brackets, can throw in switch if you need it. loom is in car still so if you want that to retrofit. youll have to pull it yourself though i cant be bothered doin that lol
