  1. usually you will need a big torx socket to take them out, pretty much the only bolts on the car that design!!! sometimes they are just a regular inverse hex
  2. my cars big brother! everything about quick wagons is always cool
  3. 740i should be the same as 540i. as for other engines like your E34 525i, let me know the part number and I will find one for you, have so much stuff here now I'm getting buried lol Long lost its paint sticker, but the VIN decoder says it is LF door rusty along the bottom, RF is better but still rusty in bottom rear corner (bottom of B pillar if that makes sense) Its a UK import that spent a few too many years there. Bonnet seems to be fine, has wide V8/V12 grills and bonnet All panels need a bloody good clean cut and polish
  4. just needs this http://www.koenig-specials.com/homepage%20neu/navigation%20neu%20englisch.htm
  5. I bet a manual 840i goes quicker too
  6. Recently wrecked both a 750iL and a 740iL Lots of stuff same as 730i 735i 735iL 740i These dont get wrecked very often these days, so get in while you can 3.15 Medium Case LSD $700 shipped 540i/M5/750iL big brake conversion $300 Also: Panels Bumpers Grills/Slam panels Interior Lights Electrics etc I dont expect silly prices for this stuff, but you do need to get in quick, the 750iL is already gone, and the 740iL will be gone by the end of this month.
  7. i dont know who you are asking! day job, plus two companies I am working on. Plus I have two spare M50s here already
  8. common guys, a 325i for 1k, being fussy about service history is pretty silly, just buy it, suck it and see.

    LPG & SUVs

so its on Farm Rego? Not much use to anyone that doesn't live on a farm and therefore irrelevant?
  10. just put 1 and 2 together, came to four then revised, but have figured out this was the E28 that was in your driveway for a few years? oh princess.

    LPG & SUVs

how are you getting road rego for $30-45, a diesel SUV is more than $400 for anyone else, and thats before you do a single KM a year In other words, extra rego cost alone is a trip to Auckland and back in a Petrol before I even leave my driveway in a diesel
  12. Yes it has, built over a period of 6 years on R3v, then sold to a another enthusiest that doesnt frequent forums where it hasnt changed much if any since, just surfaced again after a number of years, possibly has changed hands again back to the community
  13. Potentially one of the Best looking E30s I have ever seen, I just had to share, and yet so simple Body kits is as follows: Front: Reiger Lip Sides: E36, and trim delete Rear: E36 M3 grafted into E30 stock Spoiler: MTech2

    LPG & SUVs

So, whats the cliff notes on LPG SUVs in one paragraph looking at picking one up at the moment.
  16. I am planning to get across to Bimmerfest West at some stage, Would be awesome if we got a group of Bimmersporters together and commited to a year to go, obviously a year in advance to save for flights, beer, accomodation, beer, maybe even a few hack E30s (or maybe some 7s would be better) to show up in, and beer. Edit: I am sure i could easily get us free Tickets as well, and you would be in VIP section, as I am one of the senior mods and a sponser at Bimmerfest.com, one of the worlds biggest BMW Forums
  17. Have quite a few here, and i havent actually looked to see this one has yet, it needs to come out anyways when doing rear bushes, so will find out then and swap over if need be. Seat sounds really good! Harness's, I will need to find out if they are eligible to be used in intermarques, that is as serious as this car is going to get for the forseeable future, you may already know?? I can see why you would say that, would make them spin the same way as Porsche 996 Turbo wheels
  18. have thought about that a few times, couple of guys in the USA have done it, but our regulations are a lot tighter here
  19. Have this E34 525i, M50B25 Powered Had oil in water, water in oil. Probably requires new engine, or if you were really keen you may get lucky it may just be headgasket. It does start and drive fine, plenty of moisture in the exhaust though. However engine aside, it is very tidy inside and out, and being a 1995 is well optioned, with dual airbags etc, has wide grills, alarm. Only fault i have found is drivers window is not working, probably regulator as i swapped a known working switch in and didnt solve. Alternatively plenty of parts there if you wanted to do that Pictures here from old trademe Aucktion, is no longer on Throwing Stars, on stock 15" weaves http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-773140557.htm $650
  20. Plenty of people interested in it, the money is just not out there i guess, and everyone on Trademe seems to take your price, chop about 30% off it and offer that. There is a reason i didnt tick "or near offer" button, they seem to get offended when I say the price is the price.
  21. Auckland is almost as f**ked as Christchurch lol
  22. So, was full steam head with this project, progress has slipped a bit in last month, cash was diverted to pick up a set of wheels and tyres for my E30 Cab, those wheels just dont come up so i had to jump! Anyways, back on track now, and ended up picking up that E34 on throwing stars that was posted on here in another thread, decided i was a bit ahead of budget, so could splash out on some nice wheels for it. I'm not sure what they cost me yet because i havent sold the E34 they were attached to, but will update cost tracking later! Obviously suspension is still a bit mucked up till my new stuff from Dave is ordered, but gives an idea of what it will look like. Hoping to get away with the E34 tyres on there for now, and chew them out before putting some better tyres on later. For those trainspotters amoung you, yes I know that is the left hand side wheels on the right hand side of the car.... realised when 3 were already on, just left it like that, will need to come off when i do suspension anyways so will change around then I then started to make a drivers side floor pan, the E36 floor is not level and has molded carpet. there are also some wires running in this area that need to be protected. I dont have any progress pictures, but i started out with a rectangle piece of aluminium reinforced perspex that is usually used for heavy duty signage on the side of buildings and whatnot, and then trimmed that down to fit. It is bolted down using the front seat bolts and the factory accelerator clip. Will see how this goes for a start, but im thinking it might get a bit slippery if raining at the track etc, so i may put down some sort of non slip coating on it yet, but being ally perspex it weighs next to nothing! Also sold the headlights off it, someone wanted a set urgent so they took the ones of this, then i decided i dont really need them any way, and made some mesh blanks for them. Decided while i was working on the front to first remove the rest of the aircon system that resides in the engine bay, and then weighed it down at work, that was 7kg, not including the weight of the AUX fan as that will be reinstalled or at least one in its place, that would be cheating!! No pic of that of course, but does have a picture of the mesh blanks i made, i think it looks pretty cool. This side probably serves no real purpose, but the other side should give better airflow to the airbox. Will be keeping the indicators, i think they are reasonably essential, especially if i do need to drive it on the road to re gas or whatever. Will have to come up with a way to mount them, as they rely on the headlights being there for mounting usually. You can also see my tow hook mod, just drilled a hole in the trim so i can keep both on and still look reasonably tidy. Things still to buy Suspension - Dave at wheelspacers.co.nz will be hooking me up with a set of coilovers for it Manual gearbox conversion and a new radiator and then there should be plenty of room in the budget still to have all bushes replaced front and rear, and possibly a new diff if this one turns out to be inappropriate Hoping to have it all completed to a state I can race it by the end of next month.... pressure is on.
