I am thinking of buying a diagnostic tool for home use. Any recommendations? I would like to read out issues such as faulty park sensors, bad plugs, etc. It would be primarily used on a 2007 Mercedes. Fortunately my (older) BMWs don't have that many gimmicks so got away with it so far. ?

Believe 95/98 has less impurities besides higher ron. I guess you pay for that to some extent. Go get yourself an oil burner 450cdi...?

Do they also do welding work, i.e. for backrests?

Yes, it is a bit of a traditional shop. Probably not the strongest online presence. You might want to ring them. I bought it off them a couple times as well as a very good metal primer called Metal Ready - but that is if you go bare metal respray.

Hi there - interested in the OBC and handbrake boot. Rear bushes if still available. Do you shifter knob and boot?

Been looking at this a while ago. At the time (last year) the importer/distributor had seized bringing the product in. Ended up buying Bill Hirsch's Miracle Paint. Excellent stuff. You can buy it at http://autops.co.nz/en/ in Onehunga. Call first to see if it is in stock.

Thanks for the heads up - was expecting it actually ? They can be tricky to take out. Have been squirting a bit of oil onto the base for a couple of days now to work itself in. Have come up with the following procedure: 1. Don't rush 2. Penetrate bases with oil for some days 3. Warm engine before removal 4. Compressed air clean seats 5. Dap oil on base and let soak for another 30 mins 6. Check tight - 1/64th tighten 7. Then attempt to loosen (with torque 11-12nm?) 8. If resistance is encountered, work your way up again and down again Got hold of following products. Not sure which is better. Any suggestions?

I bought one new from BMW, but that is a couple of years ago now. Didn't want to take the risk mucking around with a used one. My old one leaked out of the seam....
