N42 is the engine code. You only need the last seven digits of the VIN number to order the correct parts for that engine in your car. You don't need the engine serial number.

You don't separate them in place. You take them off together and separate on the bench

They haven't addressed or fixed oil & water leaks since E30's & E28's. Some engines are just a little bit better than others

That was my position too when a lady crashed into our loan car when it was stationary and she was at fault. They tried to write it off...I wouldn't accept that and they ended up repairing it using all new parts which cost about the same book value as the car
