Simon... you'll be very lucky to get / buy a second hand hand grenade. Qualitat can do the repair for approx $3,000 with their new chain kits. Depends on the damage. More damage is created while driving as against failure on start up.

I did say the fault may need a dyno to accurately determine the true fault under driving load conditions. I may be wrong... I can be quite frequently -
When it plays up check that you have or don't have systems voltage at the violet wire on the ignition switch. Failing switches are quite common

It doesn't matter, until you need to fit the driveshaft and line up the driveshaft bolts

Spin it gently while pushing. This is done on the bench or floor... not while your trying to fit the gearbox. I hope you didn't fit the torque convertor to the flywheel first.
