I would suggest not to. The N42 & N46 engines (4 cylinder valvetronic) in BMW's can be nightmares for mechanical failures and high cost maintenance repairs. The 6 cylinder versions are far better and more reliable. I suggest you Google a bit more and do a little more research before going ahead.

The level should only be to the bottom of the gauze filter inside the resevoir after pumping the brake pedal 20 times

When you get further down the track it'll be behind you. Five weeks isn't long enough to get it behind you, especially when using a substitute like champix. Good luck though... it's not easy. Nearly 4 years for me now

You'll find one of these the best tool you could ever buy for all DIY work. Not necessarily this brand, there are lots to choose from. I got one to work on the Motorhome. If you were up the road I could of given you 20 for nothing... they come in all the head gasket sets... ya got ripped... but thats what's happening out there. I get complete injector pintle cap seal kits for less than that

I suggest you try to get the 325 motorsport ones Jim. The joints are larger & stronger. The axles can be identified by a lump half way down the axle shaft.

I totally agree with you Howard. We have lost many very valuable and knowledgeable people over the years due to the children that tend to come & go and contribute f**k all to the community.

The "O" ring seal is the same as used on the BOSCH injectors. They are a common size used on alot of different cars. Most workshops or auto electricians should be able to help you

I might also add, even the best made tool in the world will be a destructive weapon in the hands of a person without the knowledge to use it properly. All tools and equipment need a brain to operate it with experience & knowledge on how that tools works to achieve a satisfying result. You must also be aware of how to operate or use that tool in a safe manner

That only works if you can interpret the fault code. Many fault codes are the result of something else that triggers that particular fault. SRS fault codes are one good example. ie: Drivers airbag is not always the air bag. It can be the squib ring or wiring. Occupancy sensor can be wiring, plugs or sensor mat. The list goes on and gets harder with different systems, control units and models. Have fun guys. We deal with this sh*t all day and can still get it wrong.... and our scanners don't cost $100 on Ebay. I have about $20,000 dollars invested over the years in diagnostic equipment, which we will be upgrading soon

You may also need to replace the dual mass flywheel as well Shantelle if it's faulty... If so I'd go to an alternative set up.

I remember reading something quite a long time ago about crankcase ventilator valves giving problems like this on these older M70/S70 cars. I suggest you try having a "google" first. It may not be valve stem seals, especially that it only effects one bank.
