wow all this thread has done is just confuse me even more. not in any way am i trying to be an a**hole or negative, but your mind is flip-flopping more than the footwear of the same name.lol seriously what are you trying to achieve? i understand you would like an e30 comfortable for DDing and the occasional track day which i am 100% for, that is the direction i have decided to go towards aswell as many of the other young punk e30 boys. seriously read and learn from our threads. i'm very certain you will be happy in a 325i seden or coupe, konis/billys, urthane everything (delrin if you want to get carried away), HD clutch and good tires. which will be similar price your wanting for your racecar. trying to compare a 2.0l to a 2.5l is like night and day, so for a 17~yr old you'll have a bag of fun with a car like this. just be careful you dont kill yourself as you'll always want more power, and with more power comes greater responsibility. it'll be a big step up from what you might be used to. you know this comment is not about me throwing any punches and sorry if this isn't what you want to hear, have a think about what you want long term. "what do i want to do once i leave school?", "will i have enough time/money to drive/spend on my car?" "will i like e30s forever?", "am i really 16?" have a talk with your parents as they might be able to help you out. all the best in your decision mate. long story short: sell race car, buy 325i, throw go-fast/handling bits at it, drive everyday and enjoy. plus dont die.

i had thought about these as well, but it would have only been for wank-factory so i just went with delrin offset ones in the original lollipops. josh is running them in his s50 e30 http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....=24294&st=0

NAC instruance is probably a resonable place to start i reckon. when i brought your tech1, ten minutes later i rang them up and insured it for 7k at about $800-ish a year, because as soon as i got home i'd to put on all my go-fast e30 bits which are worth A FAIR BIT...and plus i am still on my restricted. but as a back up insrance company i thought they was very reasonable. at the moment i reckon "scam" it as much as you can while your under-age *cough* and untill your 25yrs old, hit up something that is more suited to your car/lifestyle needs keep it real homie. hope to see you this weekend........................................in auckland

congratz on the sale dude. looking forward to your next project.......
-
mint. are you going up to the auckland meet this week? will you there....

do you have pictures of the oil cooler? silly question but does 'ex condition' mean excellent condition.lol my one currently looks likes this sad face.

i dig your approch to remove the gearbox in place. i had to do that to one of my gearbox bolts but that was when the engine was out of the car. no doubt doing that would have saved some time. your car looks good with the tech1 kit, colour coded bumpers and no rear wing, looks very clean and sudtle. didn't realise it was four door until i saw the window swithches

think i might do a proper movember this year. probably wont help that i'll still growing my mo' from last movember (which some of you could grow in a day) but every little hair helps right.

haha i saw the show aswell. wasn't it an e39 msport? his attitude was a bit of a bad look for bmw drivers though

i was there 9 oclock on the dot saturday ready and waiting, as soon as i got inside i made a bee-line for the bimmers. haha just luck of the draw i guess, but it took me a while to figure out what i stumbled upon. like i say haven't really had the chance to give it sh*t with the new clutch but so far it definatley grips well. has quite a heavy pedal feel and you can ride it in traffic. yeah i think it was a stage 2 HD carbon kevlar disc blah blah blah. wont know how well it goes until i get the car on the track. i also replaced the clutch master and slave just for peace of mind

what are you after, cause all the sets of 51mm struts are in my garage.lol sorry brett i was using my heino spellcheck. yeah i was very pleased with my score at pickapart. reason being is i brought the car without a lsd in it so getting one for roughly $60 pretty much made my day. the diff was out of an '86 SA 325i auto which is probably why it has a tall-ish ratio. diff tag states - 45:13s so 3.46 slippery ratio. the engine had 210km on the clock, a bit of rust and raped front seats but otherwise tidy which hopefully should reflect on the diff condition. plan now is to get it rebuilt with a more rev happy ratio like a 3.76 and install my delrin hanger bush on that. at the moment i'm driving the car to work every day and taking it easy. still wearing in the HD clutch from "rds" and brakes etc. nothing has fallen off just yet, thats always good and i dont think i had any nuts or bolts left when i put the engine gearbox etc back in which was suprising. here's a pic of her now with colour matching front gaurds and body kit trims. need abit more slammage all round but i've got some springs and smaller profile tires that i'll play around with at some stage
