With B-spec, do you guys find better to start with a angry driver or a cool driver? My cool driver seems to be winning more than my angry one despite lower level but driving same car same race. Level 24 A spec and 5 B spec at the mo. If anyone want to add me, I am SpikeyLemon.

I don't know about you guys but all these new aero stuff make these new F1 cars look funny. I like the look and overall shape of late 90s F1 cars. Big spoilers and wings, proper kids stuff.

If they are to do people over rego plates, they can start by doing the truckers with dirty plates so dirty that won't reflect. People that has a bike carrier that doesn't has a bike on it (to partially obscure a plate), stickers as a "plate", etc.... I had my fine, paid it and gone back to the boring original plate. Now saving up for the real deal. $300 to upgrade apparently.

No demerit on my fines when I had my GermanPlates.com on. Is the demerit new or I just got lucky?

Nice, not sure what scale would that be? 1/8?

Not the best of weather in Auckland at the moment, in fact much of the North Island with crazy wind, rain and flood. Congrads on the new car, but drive safe!

I like those wheels too. What style are they? Original BMW?

I am sure they will trade it back at 60% of purchase price.

On my SMG it will drop 4 gears from 6th to 2nd directly without going thru 5-4-3. CVT vs traditional auto is more to do with efficiency, on whatever that I was reading on, manual gearbox has 90+% efficiency, where auto is mid-80s and CVT is high 70s to low 80s. BMW SMG is a manual is 90+% and VW Audio DSG is low 80s for the 6 speed and high 80s for the 7 speed. With the added efficiency, that will contribute to power figure and fuel figure. Honda Jazz has switched from CVT on the first gen to a traditional auto in the current model partly for this reason.

I have Eagle F1 on my e46 (225/45/17 front, 245/40/17 rear), they are now just over half worn (3-4mm tread left) and quite noisy at this point. I will think about that C1S as quietness is pretty high on my list too. I can't compare to other tyres for performance as I haven't had anything else on this car before.

Too much drug sex and booze and forgot about the cars. -
I knew the guy look familiar and thinking it might be him. I go to Carfe quite often as I got a deal through work. Both Greenlane and Takapuna do a good job. Better coffee at Greenlane and friendlier service at Takapuna.

If your car is this clean, you should be able to run your back of hand over your paintwork and should feel the same as you run your hand over window glass. Tried Mother and Meguiars retail clay bar kit, both good. I can't tell any difference between the two in terms of results. I do agree with Apex about using dish wash liquid solution instead of the detailing spray, as the clay bar will last 2-3 cars (depends on how big and how dirty your cars are), where the spray in the kit will last 1-2 cars.

Your Premium Selection warranty, is that the one from BMW itself that comes with servicing package? I had a few things fixed and an Inspection II done on my car at no cost to me without any hassle. I bought my car from Team McMillan too. Who did you spoke to at Team McMillan service? I had bad experience with the service advisor (some white guy) but really good experience with the team leader (Andrew).

Not sure if this is programable to turn off. Some JAP and US spec has key reminder to tell you the keys are still in ignition when driver door is open but engine is off.

Good on him for still driving at age of 102!!!

Nothing new, isn't there some longboarders bombing down the motorway at Bombay Hills couple months back?

Many people don't like diesel for the extra "tax" (RUC) that you pay separately. It actually depends on how much distance you do in a year. You are looking at around 20,000km per year for most small cars. Generally the thirsty the car you are getting, the less k you need to do to break even in petrol cost vs the diesel fuel + RUC cost. As for performance, BMWs are no drag car. If you buy one for straight line performance, there are better value cars out there.

What kind of format supported by BMW Mini-Disc Player
my_e36 replied to sdevil's topic in Audio & In Car Entertainment
All the MD use a ATRAC codec, but you have to use non-MDLP format. Assuming you are using the USB cable for this (why would you not to, it's so much faster!) When you make the MD using the N10 from the SONY software, you will be able to choose a compression of 2x or 4x or none. You MUST use none for that to work in the car MD. If you are using normal input (3.5mm or optical), then make sure you DON'T set recording mode to MDLP. -
You now got an excuse for a whole new set.

Don't some of the paint place use a spectrometer to match up to an existing panel (like a fuel cap or mirror cap) for the paint? Would that likely to be a closer match without re-polish the whole car? Besides if there's any fade effect, wouldn't it be beyond the clear coat that a polish won't do much anyway? (besides surface oxidation)

It looks better when it was gold colour.

I don't have a M3 but still a 3 litre. My consumption is in my signature. Approx 11.1 litre/100km, very similar to a e46 318Ti I had couple of years ago. Better than my e36 323i by around 1 litre. They all had similar usage pattern and driving style.

Forza does Itaian stuff mainly. I too would say dealers for pre-purchase inspection and use a good independent garage for on-going maintenance.

I remember reading somewhere here before that the new vans's radar signals are polarised or something like that, so if you turn the detector 90 degree, you'll get the detection. Or am I gibberish rubbish here?
