This is not a super white bulb but a high out-put normal colour bulb. I haven't use this specific model myself, but Philips brand are good quality and I've used a few of their other ones and are all ok. These high output bulbs trade longevity for output, I never had any high output bulb lasted longer than 1 year on me. It's E-marked so it should be legal for NZ. (though I doubt a WOF inspector will actually look for this)

If you want quiet, go OEM pad and rotors. They are very reasonably priced. Replaced brake fluids as well if you can't remember when you did it last time. It makes a big difference especially if it's over 2 years old. Most mechanics will do this for <$100

I could be wrong but I don't think that style of steering wheel belongs to a 98 Motorsport. It should have a big round air-bag thing in the middle (as per photo). Someone swapped it in after airbag deployment?

Depends on what quantity you are talking about. If you are not buying things by container-ful, you can pretty much forget talking to manufacturer. That leave you so-called distributers which will, naturally, have their mark-up. That will eat into your profits.

Instead of jerking, try take a long sweeper in both direction. (South Eastern is great for this). Alternatively, jack the car up, grab the wheel by top and bottom and rock. If it has any play, then wheel bearing is likely in trouble. Also, rotate the wheel and hear for any scrap/rough noise when it spin, which also indicate the same thing.

Maybe just a sticky seal/rubber ring. I reckon "reasonable" brute force.

I heard the General Motor's cars in US do, that mean the Holdens here *MIGHT*. Even if they don't, the speedo will point at whatever speed just prior to impact if it's severe enough to kill the power instantly.

My battery charger will charge at 4 amps, this should be enough? Mine should arrive in a few days, can't wait to start tinker a bit.

I am not sure about the rest of the cars but the brakes are hugely expensive to replace. Genuine AMG Pad and rotors for E55 are over $2000 per axle. I would imagine the ML's are similar if not more.

Hardly anything decent in NZ I found, I order from these guys. Arrived within a week. http://www.powerbulbs.com/

I had a split CV boot and the place passed me ok but with a note on the check sheet. That said, it wasn't throwing anything into the brakes but a bit went on the wheel and suspension parts. I too tried not to go to VTNZ, they are sometimes too picky on small things. Sometimes I wonder they are related to all the people that place ads around the place. Recently they started selling retail items like a mini-Repco with 15% mark-up over Repco's retail price.

I won't hold my breath for people to get to know the new one. Whatever the rule might be, people on the road just do what they THINK the rules are without regards. Rule change will bring less confusions for the tourists but not so much for NZ public especially the oldies that are used to our current rules.

Did you mean the button with icon that's fan-shape with 3 arrows going up (top right corner)? Pretty sure that's normal. Whenever you use that button, it automatically set to max fan-speed and max-temp, air-con on with fresh air (not recirculate) to clear to fog in shortest time. It does this regardless of what you've set just before pressing the button.

You won't be wanting to use Courier Post that's for sure. Trying ring around some bulk freight company, like Bullet, PBT, etc...

It still depends if the owner haven't "op-out" at the LTSA's end. But that would be it.

My front is 225 45 17, maybe that's part of the reason? Difference is 3.1cm total tyre height, makes it 1.5cm at the chassis?

This is a genuine BMW part, your best bet would be a wrecker or dealer.

as topic... Basically, I will be using this for brake fluid change (suck it out of the bleed screw rather than going back and forth to pump the brake pedal) and other fluids like power steer and diff. Just wondering if this is suitable. What do you guys do/use when doing those fluid changes? ^^^ No point in them rattle gun the nuts HARD then torque wrench after. I reckon most of them just do the torque wrench part for show.

I am interested but you just drop a standard SATA drive in it and it'll sort itself out? Do I need to pre-partition or Ghost the old drive's stuff across anything like that?

The engine sounded half decent for a old thing like that.

I'll get heart attack every time at the fuel pump.

Those xenon bulbs that the guy is selling seems quite amazing, wonder if anyone here got it?
