  1. Just foolishly got myself some BBS RS's. Let's schedule a quick photoshoot sat/sun? Down as Edit: I'll ask my other cab buddies. One of them is keen already, so we got at least 2. Don't wanna crowd the place up though Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  2. Bags your "minty fresh"! Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  3. Guess what we should do this weekend Kendrick Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  4. That last picture is awesome. With the badges and stuff, sweet. Probably sacrilege, but a tech2 conversion for your cab would be most excellent. You gonna let that tech1 sit there and out-tech you at Hard Park? Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  5. Sure, I'll make sure we can get at least all 4 of the cab owners I frequently see together to make it worthwhile. One day! Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  6. Lol are you overdue for your 13th service? That's crazy low Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  7. Sure. I look forward to seeing it in person one day! Have pretty much looked the crap out of the ones my friends own already Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  8. What did you lower it with? Ha, looks almost too low, like mine. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

    Quick Questions

Correcto, I stuck a real weak roll of 3 sheets of paper and it definitely felt like the fan was engaged whilst cold. I was glad to have found an "abnormality" but its the wrong one for my problem! Thermostats get stuck open or closed more often? I would assume open as the cause of sticking would be friction related and at the warmest the mechanisms are more likely to bind than at cold? What symptoms are characteristic of failing pumps? Cooling capability proportional to engine speed? Would like to see if they correlate before I pull it out to have a geeze. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  10. Lol just make sure my friend. The bit between road, gutter, footpath is the big killer. I was semi in denial about it but after a quick measure I was interfering a good 2 inches! Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  11. Wowsers, that front moulding is low. With it being fibreglass you're gonna have to be super careful. Check to see if at that height you can get your car from the road to the driveway. Remember the kits are only around 1" lower than the standard, but around 2" more forward. Its the forward part that'll get you in trouble. I've got the same problem with my tech1, can't mount it as I won't be able to get into my driveway! Edit: had it all mock-fitted before I did a sanity check and realised I wouldn't be able to back the car out if I went ahead and screwed things on.

    Quick Questions

Once again, cheers Andy for the relevant information. Have checked the coupling and I am more surprised than before. I know how viscous couplings work and did some e30 specific reading tonight. Started up my car and behold the fan starts spinning at operational speed straightaway without the engine being warm at all! Double checked after the drive home (gauge got up to halfway between the last white mark and the start of the red mark tonight...) And the fan was engaging, so unfortunately I don't think its the fan. So back to the list its either pump, stuck-closed thermostat, or clogged internals in either the engine or the radiator. I know my temp sensor reads slightly high (tested it at Bavarian) but seeing the gauge so high up bring a tear to my eye Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

    Quick Questions

Yep, gonna check it when I get home. Say it turns out to be the coupling, is it something you usually buy new or do people commonly go for 2nd hand? If its like a pump etc I don't envisage getting secondhand. Ballpark price? I'm hoping its the fan as I've got my first weekend from work in quite a while, and would excellent timing for me to do Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

    M TOY M3

The darker colour really looks reminiscent of the the e30 tech1 spoiler I love so much, looks great. How is it mounted? Adhesive or fasteners? Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

    Quick Questions

Quick question. What could be the reason for my b20 engine to get hotter and hotter? The steady state temp has been slowly going up last 2 months and I'm now at the 75-80% range when idling in hot traffic. Causes I can think of: Water pump Viscous clutch for the fan Have had the radiator flushed when I got the cab 6 months ago, so I don't think its the heat exchanger itself. I'm losing a tiny bit of water through the disintegrating rubber seals on my headgasket. Have lost about 2 fingerwidths of fluid below the coolant level line in about 3-4 months, I check and top up with demineralised water once a week though. What else could it be? I'm hoping its the fan clutch as it seems to be an easier fix. Thanks team Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  16. That dark green Facebook one is tentatively sold for 4k. The seller said they were just waiting on some guy to turn up with the 4k cash, and that if I wanted it or have to beat it and beat it soon. Take from that what you will, I thought 4k was a little much for it, just a bit Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  17. OK, before we go all crazy, it wasn't mint. The clear was just starting to go and the front valence was removed as it had probably got scraped off or something. It was still highly arousing, but I just wanna make sure we're not swooning over different cars Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  18. Nice, I'm parking there quite a bit now as well. Maybe one day he'll see how awesomely well looked after my cab is and offer me the touring Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  19. I just saw a suuuper sexy dark green e30 touring parked at the Secure Parking in the Chancery in Auckland city. Didn't have my phone on me but I stopped for a good 3 minutes before running on. Dark green with a really nice tan leather interior. Amazing! Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  20. I did the Tongariro Crossing in my tall Blundstones a while ago. I was more comfortable walking on all the terrain than any other hiking boot, and got a much better workout because the boots were around twice the weight! Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  21. Is that another Cirrusblau coloured e30? Hooray! Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  22. Conscientious shoppers! Especially when there's a big sale and they're marked down from $999 to only $199. What a deal! Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  23. Yep its not unheard of. My friend's 87 cabrio still has a fantastic window too. His doesn't have the rear screen cover so I'm going to take a guess that yours was probably garaged all the time. So back on topic, I still stand by my initial estimates: 6k for a tidy pfl, 7k for a tidy fl. Once again due to relative scarcity these numbers can vary wildly based on the "waaaaannt" value but I gleaned these figures through what I've seen them listed/actually sell for. Keep in mind if you're a stickler with your car, restoration/maintenance can very easily surpass the buying price! Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  24. I should rephrase, replaced roofs will save you around 1k as you don't need to do it yourself. So you can factor that into the maintenance contingency. Not many original roofs are kicking without being in cloudy/brittle state. I should rephrase that, quite a few roofs I've seen are old and will need replacing. Edit: Cirrus tech1 would be far superior! Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  25. Its not that much relative to the price of the car, but I imagine you could push back and ask for the original price - your missed flight ticket price if you wanted to Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
