  1. I treat the forums as a refuge from the people on Facebook. I may not contribute much around here but value the community here a heck of a lot more than the Facebook one.We should have a thread where we discuss where we would like to see the fourms go and how we can consciously contribute to achieve it. I certainly think its possible, I've seen it done before. This is our community, there's little stopping us from being aware and conscious of cultures we want to develop. I would hate for the forums to completely disappear as the thought of bring exposed solely to the Facebook scares my very core
  2. The RSs I got recently came with cheap Chinese tyres on them. I put them on and the vibrations were absolutely horrendous. Took it in for a proper balance. Turns out they weren't balanced, which is understandable since the tyres wee brand new, but once we balanced it I saw that these tyres were not concentric and had eccentricities all over the place. Until I get some better tyres my car vibrates around 90-100km. I don't envisage the tyres will get worn down to round again, it is more likely they just get worn in a similar oval shape, so I'm not counting on anything. Summary: If its not your control arms or anything, if you have cheap tyres it is possible they are the culprit. Thanks
  3. Most of my female friends love the idea of a convertible but most get quickly annoyed with the wind as I watch them subconsciously tidy their hair for the entire trip as it billows in the wind. Aside from a few sissy guy friends, all the guys love it when we go cruising. I don't know how much your Mrs will enjoy it when she rides passenger! But I def recommend a convertible. I can't even look at hardtops anymore when I do any sort of comparative analysis. ie "Do I want to have 80% more fun when driving or not?"
  4. Sorry if i am repeating something, didn't scan the entire thread. All you have really is your word and his. So back up the integrity of your word by showing your previous sales and feedback. Make it clear you do this a bit and scamming someone is not a beneficial thing for you to do. A lot more likely to side with him if this was like the first thing you sold and it didn't work, a lot more likely to side with you when we see you've sold lots of other stuff in the past.
  5. Ha, I'm looking for a BMW 15" BBS RS centrecap and waffleplate! Aside from overseas where can I find one!
  6. +1 to the EZout. Managed to use one for an M3 screw once, was so proud. You can get a shitty chinese set for like 10. I then sharpened the cutter a bit as it was awful, then it was a combination of pushing down as hard as I could and pulsing the turning of the cutter until it finally bit. The squeaking of the rusty M3 was a wonderful sound!
  7. My cab has a new genuine sport cup kit, so matching springs and shocks. These springs are supposed to be the stiffest of the lot, but I found them to be around half those found in more aggressive coilovers or anything. I've found the ride to only be slightly harsher than stock. So take away message is that the springs are lower, but comfort is roughly the same really. I wish they were stiffer though for the drop achieved, as I need crawl over speedbumps in my current cab. Granted the cab is a lot heavier than 2 doors, you may not have such a problem
  8. Is that an M3 touring! Holy flip that is arousing

  10. Oh hell yeah for cirrus cabs! Love it! However what a US one is doing here I won't understand. Can anyone let me know which ways the US specs are better than our ones? The US specs all have the super duper hideous bumpers their government enforced. I saw heaps in the states and just kept thinking how unfortunate they were and how lucky we were back home Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  11. Another coolguy-wheel-importing place is Autostance in East Tamaki. They pretty much save the same stuff but you'll save $100 on shipping. Both places are equally as helpful and fast to respond. I haggled some prices with them knowing what the other place was selling them for. It was actually OK, I was about to jump the gun and place an order before I found some genuines. Give them a go too, but with both places you'll be playing the month-per-shipment game Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  12. It was listed at 40,000 on trademe for 3 months. As for what it actually went for, or didn't, I'm not sure. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  13. Is that the one with the white tech1 wheel? It was on trademe last year from October to January I think. Looked fantastic, though in the photos above the white doesn't look as impossible to maintain as the photos in trademe did Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

  15. Is that black photo of your actual car? How did you end up with a US bumpered car in NZ? Certainly looks interesting. I'm surprised things like this are around NZ Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

  17. Hi all, Bit of a mix between the project thread and this showroom thread, but I've managed to get my hands on some genuine 15" RS's at an excellent 7.5", 8.5" staggered fitment. During a rare day off work I spent a day bringing the wheels back to an acceptable lustre using the wheel polishing kit and some good ol' 2000-3000 grit wet-sand. Gave her another thorough polish all over and headed out with handgrenade (Kendrick) for an impromptu photo session, the results of which are as below. I have little photoshop expertise, so the extent of the alterations are just some moderate WIndows Photo Gallery sharpening (which I think looks really "showroom", it is also to get rid of some unwanted blur) and a little saturation increase to get that "idyllic" feeling. Gotta love the late, lazy afternoon shoots: Dusty gravel makes tyres look meatier than they actually are Obligatory rear end appreciation pic: Shootin' in the sun, almost tilt-shift style: NZPC-esque wide angle shot: Extra-obligatory dish appreciation shot: Buddies: sneak peek at Kendrick's M3. (have left them off here since my amateur photo editing skills won't do it justice)
  18. The only person that I know of who has a set is etwenty1 (Chris) on here. Haven't seen him around but endorse him as a good person to deal with. Pretty sure he was keeping them, but you never know with these things.

    E30 Motorsport Cab.

You should try to track down what happened to that red m3 cabrio on sale last year. Holy moly it was immaculate! It had a white, not cream, interior, so you could never sit in it really. But it looked awesome! Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

    E30 Motorsport Cab.

Best of luck Chris, for some reason there are dozens to cabrios for sale at the moment. Must the the breaking stage in the e30 cabrio's life! I remember looking for months last year only to find a couple! Practically had to plead for my current one! May I ask what's coming next? Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  21. Quick comment, You'll need to stretch your tyres if you don't want them to stick out of the guards. That means you'll need to run Falken 452s if you want to legally stretch, as I think there aren't too many legal options out there. They might restrict your budget some more, unless you decide to run other branded tyres instead. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
