He he he, excuse me sir: https://touch.trademe.co.nz/listing/view/686260099 Been listed for a few months now! Its going to be the standard "worth what someone will pay for it" argument with these, but I'd say the "going rate" for these really is around up to 6k for a pfl, 7k for a fl. Ratty ones go for around 5k to 5.5k. Really good condition ones can go for a bit more than that. A bimmersport member had an immaculate gold one they claimed had multiple buyers at 10k. A few of them on trademe have new roofs, which knocks back 1k just like that, so keep that into your consideration list. Like any E30, they all need work really, so I'd be more looking for a good condition one than a cheaply since you'll be spending a bit for "maintenance". I've spent around $4k-5k already fixing up bits and pieces for mine, then around $2.5k with cool-guy bits I have managed to snag. Most sitting in limbo.. (Oh sweet Jesus it certainly is surprising/amazing/horrifying realising I've spent so much on the car already...) Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

Sounds like fun! (Morally grey fun) Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

Ha, be it true or not, the seller's actions were horrendous, and I think that's what the thread was about. Sucks though, since you'll be in Christchurch anyway you should go and egg his house or something Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

Rocket cover! But wow that's a cool car. Pricey for what it is? Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

If you're keen for a restoration project I'll swap my tech1 rear bumper for this one. Mine has the towbar section removed, so as a part of your restoration game you can fill it back up. Sound good? Its in excellent condition otherwise Edit: lol I'm only 15% serious. But I'm 15% serious. I'll do cash your way. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

Id like to ask on behalf of a friend about the tech1 kit as well. And then the motor for myself! What a coincidence you've bought it to our doorstep Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

So I've seen 3 m3s for sale now, each around +$17k. $10k for a silver one at 280k kms seems slightly low? I've always kind of skimmed over e36 info, but anyone able to offer some insight?

Mate, I have no idea either. It was previous owner I think, so some self conscious Hamiltonian? Ha, who knows. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

That's seems to be the one my friend. How did you know about it? Lol are you Jeff? But really, according to the serious colleague the seller said it is completely standard apart from the recolour and the interior is reupholstered. What this entails, I am not sure. Probably just seats. Full service history as well. Comments? Edit: oh, also a big thing, the techno violet is still visible in the engine bay. So I'm assuming still visible in other areas as well. He's said he's looking for 10, but is willing to go slightly less. I'm not interested in it myself, as my hands are full, but I will ask for you mate. From what little I know, he's had it for 2 years. Previous owner was someone in Hamilton who commuted to Auckland, so there are around 280,000 hot kms there. Another colleague is pretty serious as he needs a car and has caught the BMW bug from me. He's offering around 9, but its all pretty preliminary Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

My colleagues brother owns a 4 door techno violet one (has been resprayed a different color though) and is selling due to going overseas. What a coincidence that I saw this! Anyone interested? I don't think he is on the forums etc so there won't be much visibility for the sale. Any idea how much it would be worth? Quite painful hearing my other colleagues asking real generic questions about it. He doesn't have a price in mind somehow.. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

"If you ever sell those wheels let me know etc" What tyres are on there at the moment? Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

Ha, care to expand? I'm no expert and would love to learn more about it. From 4 years of personal experience I find less is definitely best. If you are putting so much compound on your metal, what you'll find is with amateur/excessive heat and friction the compound will change properties slightly and clump into very thin slivers. These slivers will catch any other compound on the buffing wheel and grow in size, leaving tiny dark marks in the metal which need to get picked off or wiped off aggressively. I've also seen that polishing with too much compound will cause whatever little metal you abrade to stick into the compound and smear onto your metal, forming a thin "protective" film of compound which you end up buffing for ages instead of the underlying metal itself. The compound I've used is waxed based and as wax, it tends to melt and change properties with temperature changes in the metal. Other cream-based compounds may behave differently and I cannot comment on those. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

You probably know already but a friendly reminder to NOT use too much polishing bar etc! Be suuuuper stingy with the bar as you'll just end up with an even layer of dark gunk you won't be able to get off, which will never look shiny. If your buffing wheel has become no longer fluffy, you may have used too much! Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

Lol Just checking that people above are referring to these as wheels ONLY right? If these came with tyres (which you've said are pretty new) at this price, and they aren't crap Chinese ones I would be supremely interested Edit: I say this because I'm going to be spending similar money on some 16x8 replicas in 2 months. If they are similarly priced I'll need to have a bit of a reconsider.

Plastic goes cloudy due to UV damage as material breakdown. The polish is a light abrasive that takes a tiny amount off the surface. If your "cloudiness" is deep like mine, the only thing you can do is to replace the entire cover, or pay an autotrim company to replace the window, which ever is cheaper.
