alignment for inner tyre wear due to high camber
Dave@nz replied to LsBeema's topic in Wheels & Tyres
Hi, Are you asking for recommendations on on wheel alignment if yes some basic information on the model would help also are the the ball joints, bushes etc in good order. May be the tow in is not enough otherwise for a tyre which is 80% worn out not abnormal. "Because of the adjusties, camber gets abit high,so inner threads get eatin" what does this mean? -
Hi, I am still after this item, Please let me know if you can supply. Thanks, Dave.

Hi Gareth, Thanks for the offer I am slowly talking myself in to it and I will let you know if I need a hand, probably next step is look for some material. Sounds like should be able to save plenty of $ doing it my self. Dave.

Thank you for the information I have been looking up threads relating to removing the hood lining does not look to difficult to do at home just not sure of the sun roof piece. I will ask M S Upholstery for a price and if they would sell just the material. Thanks, Dave.

Hi guys, I have sagging headlining on my e36 sedan with sun roof and are after recommendations of a good Auto upholster in Christchurch also what would this cost?

Seems like not a lot of "good parts" for your 18k to me.

Bump this thread still require this part. Dave.

Hi Guys, I would like to buy the section of wiring harness with plugs and boot that plugs on to the fuel sender unit of a pre face lift E30. The red arrow points to the type of boot required and the green points to the wiring harness and plug which I hope to replace. The missing boot form the plug and damaged casing due auto electrician “repairsâ€. Must be in good condition with boot/plug and outer black casing last two feet at least of wiring length, Please pm me with details. Thanks, Dave. E30 Sender wiring

Hi, Another good place for tools if you are not in a hurry is ebay America, I brought a set of 9 1/4 drive snapon tube sockets in a snapon box like new for 90.00 nz dollars. I have Stahlwille metric and imperial sets which I slowly built up over a number of years by buying the size spanner I needed when I could afford it, nothing wrong with either of your choices both good choices. Hi, Interesting reading all the posts and plenty for buying the kit, I would advise strongly to not purchase it maybe up grade your car, pay towards the mortgage or keep it in the bank etc. Buying it and storing it until you can install it would be risky as and could quickly turn pear shaped, it would not be hundreds out of pocket my guess would be a lot more than that.

Hi, I also suspect running richer than normal for cold start up may be the problem, if this is the case first thing to test or replace would be the water thermo sensor for the computer. Testing when fully cold would be the answer, may be remove and put in the fridge for a few hours then test with the ohm meter not sure what it the reading should be, a google search should provide some info. If it is running rich and stalling when cold hard starting and rough running straight after stall would be normal for this kind of problem, from your description of restarting sound the same. Dave.

Hi, It is a hard one to price up usually a lot more work is revealed once it has been blasted, I would allow 15k for the repair and repaint of the shell this may not be enough to get it fully reassembled. For the engine to restore it to factory new condition costs over 10k in parts depending on condition of items like crank & valves, factory pistons for mine were over 2.5k. Yes it can be done cheaper we all know someone who can do it cheaper but there are usually compromises. Once the shell is painted most people will not bolt back on worn or "aged" parts, the prices of the rubber and plastic parts alone is enough to make your eyes water. What you have to decide is if you are going to keep the car and if you do it up what standard you do it to, price wise a really good tidy up replacing worn parts and full restoration probably not a lot of difference. Prices of parts are not getting cheaper and some things are no longer available just making things harder. May be you should look at it what it might be worth restored in 10-15 years time. Dave.

Hi, As I see it you have two clear paths one is like previous member suggested get another engine exactly same as original for easy replacement. 2nd is to sell it as is try and recoup some of your money move on to another car. Any other option would not make financial sense. Hope you dont take this as negative advice. Dave.

Hi Guys, Some items I have for sale on trademe. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Members/Listings....?member=3242134 Dave.
-
Hi, If you want everything original and reasonable order 35k or over would be the starting price and expect to spend 5-10k refreshing worn items and catching up with maintenance. Either of the ones on trade me look value for money and worth the effort to look at, you will have to travel to buy one unless you buy from Japan and have it shipped to your door. Dave

I agree sounded like the bigends were noisy from the start off and the black oil looks like neglect.

Hi, I am looking forward to photos, lots of them along with the up dates of the good work you are doing. Threads like this are very interesting and show the skill and dedication of the owners. Dave

E30 BMW M3: Most Overhyped Classic? - AFTER/DRIVE
Dave@nz replied to Golfboy666GTI's topic in Videos & Sound
Interesting video thanks for posting it, I think the E30 two door variants will be next to increase in price especially the ones in good order and stock original condition. So if you have one of these look after it and start buying parts for it. -
Hi, I think I can help you, I will check my parts in the morning and pm you Dave.

How about this one looks quite good and mainly easy cosmetic changes required, tech1 steering wheel and shift boot/knob etc. Dave. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/...n-564751258.htm

Hi, I have been using this product over the last 4 years and I agree it is very good not messy and easy to apply, you can even use a paint brush for that hard to get at spot. Dave.

It would be gut wrenching for the owner and take a while to get over it. If you have something you care about keep it well locked up and under guard when it is not.
-
Hi, I would pay to do some homework on this first, it might be for example that it should have ATF oil in and changing it to a thinner oil will make a big difference and fix the problem. Dave.

Hi, Sometimes it is worthwhile figuring out who you would like to work for and in what field them approach them and ask for if it would be possible to do some voluntary work experience. This company looks interesting. http://www.worleyparsons.com/Pages/Default.aspx http://www.worleyparsons.com/Careers/Caree...es/default.aspx Dave.
