At that point in time the e46 engines had a bit of an upgrade, so the 318i went up to a 2l 4 cylinder, the 6 cylinder 320i went to a 2.2l and the rest stays as is. Also more info to know if it is a fair price. How well is it spec'd, service history? Any mods done

I've been keeping an eye on this car, could be something of a bargain. Also happy to check it over if your interested in it
-
That's the one
-
Just buy Brents one instead, pretty sure it's manual too
-
I got the alloy Thermostat housing for the 328i but if is a common thing to break on the m43 I should also look into an alloy one. Or your just doing the bolts and clamp up too tight causing more stress on it between heat cycles causing it to crack.

In my old e30 I didn't really notice much difference performance wise but economy was a good improvement. On a trip to Chch got about an extra 80km out of a tank

I thought it didnt sound like a v8, will have to keep an eye out for it tomorrow

An E34 530is getting thrashed around the warf for the super special stage of the Otago rally. Was getting pretty sideways

thats the tidest under carrage Ive ever seen! Shows that its very well looked after. GLWS
-
haha just noticed that! Id say its from having either a non facelift grill with facelift kidneys or vice-versa
-
Oh how I lust for those wheels...
-
Well it did feature on back to the future as a flying taxi along side the 635csi

Very nice looking e30, Welcome

Yes had to do a bit of trimming to the lower insert to allow for the towbar. Also interested in afew parts if your parting out that touring Brent
-
Thats a pain about the re-vinning, no biggie tho I spose. Mine doesnt ride too bad surprisingly, not as smooth as the 328 was with bilsteins HnR springs but the touring handles better somehow
-
Cheers Cliff. The M3s only been in town since the end of last year and the previous owner only drove it down from Timaru then parked it up with the intentions of doing what Im going through now but didnt have time so thats how I ended up with it and have driven it maybe 3-4 times before i started work on it. But Im surprised you never saw the 328, Ive had that for four years, up untill last weekend which sold to a guy in CHCH. Theres afew (4-5) of us that are trying to get a monthly meet/bbq going so would be good if you could come along and Il let ya take a close up look of the remaining two E36s I have

Damn you Brent! You find all the good deals! If only there were more to be had down this way... But then again the missus would of got sick of my sh*t and left me hahaha That touring looks pretty good, but I do think 19s are too big for an e36, hence why I took mine off the M3...then put them on this haha. only temp tho, was either them or the factory 15s

Just for the rear bushes on the front lower arms at this stage to eliminate the known issues. once Ive driven it for a while I may look at replacing the rear subframe, rtab's and diff bushes to the powerflex bushes.
-
Haha yes that is true! I am dying to take it out again now that I know Its safe to take it up to full revs and for a bit of extra sprited driving have only taken it up to about 5k rpm and thats when it gets its second win I would of thought the rearend would be the same setup as a normal coupe bar the subframe etc
-
Just noticed the second one mentioned is the one in Dunedin. not a bad price if everything cheacks out. could be interested in it myself... there is a hole where my old 328i used to be...
-
Hmmm wooden roof rails could be cool, I do have a fair bit of timber left over from building the deck and some stain... and bonnet had a clearcoat on it Michael so dont have to worry about it running in the rain as being in Dunedin it can be a beautiful day in the morning then p*ss down about 3 hours later so swapping it on/off was a no go so thought sealng it would solve that issue. I used an electric spray gun to do it Max to get a better finish but was my first time using it and even with a practice spray i messed it up haha
-
Cheers Michael, not far away now! Was abit gutted I got the wrong hose for it tho, was hoping to be driving it again this week but probably wont be untill next week now since repco didnt have anything. Got the bushes done this morning so got the arms all bolted up again and wheels on ready to roll again aswell as putting viscous fan, and radiator shrouds and front plastic cover back on. also fixed up the underside plastic tray as had 3 big holes so taped the underside of them up, filled them in with some fibre reinforced putty, pulled tape off and did a light coat on the underside then a quick sand and abit of paint its come up as good as new. Also was reading the users manual with the morning coffee since the folder was on the bench and got to the towing capacity section which clearly stats in bold writing that a M3 is prohibitted from towing, even tho mine is fitted with a towbar... wonder what the reasoning behind that is

Dont worry, I tried that already! was more to see how it would ride on 17s but they wouldnt clear the front brakes. And also sold the 328i last weekend so didnt have time to take the good tyres off it either, or the headunit. It currently has the style 32s on it and the touring has the black 19s off the M3 just for a swap around unit I get tyres for the style 5s
