AST4800 Petrol engine twin camshaft Setting/locking tool Kit and; AST4815 camshaft/carrier Bracket remover & installer tool Kit (use in conjunction with AST4800 Kit).

The tools are $125 to hire for five days from all euro parts. I think thats my best option so far.

There are diy's on the net, but it still requires a special tool.

I am currently reconditioning a head which will replace the existing one on my n46 motor. Does anyone know who has the timing gear to setup the cams? I heard that there is one company that comes to you, and does it at your location? Alternatively, another option could be to take the car somewhere and get them to do the whole head swap including the cam timing. Obviously the first option would be preferable as it would be cheaper. Anyone know who does this?

Can you run compressed air down the spark plug hole to do them on that motor?

Hopefully having the insurance refusing to pay out, and getting one hell of an impact will stop this munter from drink driving again. Lucky he didnt kill anyone. Lots of new toys for Brent though....

the button is for a rear foglight. it may only come on when you are in reverse.

All the supercheaps sold out well before midday. The Mt Wellington store told me that they had ten people queued up before the store opened. I went to four stores and all were sold out, but it can still be bought online through their website. It will have to be ordered today. Through friends getting some for me, and ordering online, I've managed to get 7 bottles of 5w30. 35 litres for $280 is awesome in my book. I bought oil filters from repco as they had 25% off filters, and supercheap were selling for full price.

Just read through this whole thread. I like your philosophy of if its worth doing its worth overdoing.
