  1. If I'm going to follow through with your suggestion of using tapes, I wouldn't mind Blur or Offspring if you happen to have them
  2. Your write up was more interesting than the actual trade me auction.
  3. How's that going anyway?
  4. Did you actually paint your bumper on the bonnet of an e30 with pinstriping? Surely there are cheaper work benches to be found
  5. Cheers. I might see if he has spare box as well, cause having a 4 speed sucks
  6. It's pretty sloppy in neutral between 1-2 and 3-4, going into reverse takes effort and feels normal for a BMW, going into 5th takes a bit of effort and starts going in but stops engaging once the synchros are just touching (enough for lots of noise and minimal movement of the wheels)
  7. Looks pretty normal to me?
  8. I'm curious as to why you are deleting the sunroof?
  9. Pretty sure it's in the normal place but I'll check tomorrow. Thanks
  10. I'll see how stuffed mine are. Are all of the mounts on these fine?
  11. Similar power but the M30b35 is heavier and not as efficient etc. Plus the m30 that was in the car had a hole in the block IIRC Also it's HellBM so why not
  12. Getrag 260 (/5?) not going into 5th. Shifter isn't binding, it just won't go fully in, partially engages synchros but not enough to catch
  13. You really need to stop tempting me here...
  14. I want it, but I'm not in auckland :/
  15. I didn't know Andy listened to Bruno Mars
  16. It's almost time to revist this But now I've got more things to play with. Current parts include: Several period correct BMW headunits Period correct Alpine HU, that apparently came in the Countach Existing 2010's Sony CD HU 2 possbily period correct or 2000's amps 2 sets of factory tweeter pods Rear premium speakers Front premium speakers Rear standard speakers Front standard speakers 5.25" (I think) Cerwin Vega speakers with custom housing to fit an e28 footwell Some random aftermarket tweeters if I can remove them from my M535i Possibly a 10" Sub of some kind 6x9's coming out of my ears, plus 2 sets of custom housings to fit them into an e28 Of course most of that isn't particularly useful, but it's a start I can also most likely get my hands on a 90's Blaupunkt HU with CD stacker (currently in a friends e36 glovebox)
  17. All appears to be running fine (touch wood). Clutch and gearbox much nicer with new fluid and slave. Just need to sort insurance, WOF, valve adjustment, reverse light (dodgy connection, no biggy) and an occasional rattling from the rear of the car. I also installed a new (, bigger and correct) battery
  18. New slave cylinder installed, bled the clutch, redline fluid in the gearbox, new coolant. After dinner top up the brake fluid and then it's test drive time
  19. Idle issue fixed by giving the ICV some attention. Now idles consistently at 1k. Fixed the alternator by plugging it in properly. Drove it up the road with no issues, other than the clutch not playing ball, needs new fluid, rebleeding, new filler cap. I might change the slave cylinder while I'm there too. Next up gearbox fluid change, new clutch fluid, new brake fluid reassemble the interior and off for a WOF. So yeah, New Years is very feasible.
  20. He should fit in an e60 though, same power plant
  21. I don't think it's vacuum as if I remove the oil cap it gets better. I'm gonna check the AFM, TPS and ICV next. I suspect a good run would help too since it hasn't run for 2 years...
