Try and get one with a flamethrower. Also yes, SA variants got Iron blocks option code 961.

Has been on trademe for about a year now. I'm surprised it hasn't sold, regardless of being converted. Must have some flaws.
-
Brad Galbraith's old one - Definitely looking a lot better than it was when he bought it a few months ago. Enjoy!

Will pay fuel to have 4x wheels delivered to Auckland
Rubix replied to atlantiskiwi's topic in General Discussion
1 in the boot, 2 in the rear, one in the front amber Picked up 4x tyres in my paseo doing this last night, they'll fit in M3 easily. -
Was sold from whangaparaoa a couple of years ago asking the same price IIRC with about 10-20k less km's.

Makes perfect sense, thanks I had Type II's on my old e46, forgot they didn't have a lip.
-
I see 8 cylinders - what are you building?
-
Those are AC schnitzer II's I believe, Type I's are 3 piece IIRC.
-
MattA? His has higher K's and isn't immaculate IIRC and he wasn't trying very hard to sell it at all
-
8-10k+ to the right buyer (with service history) for sure, the wheels don't help it's cause.

You're best to get a sticker of the BMW logo made up to cover the fern - the "sticker" plate is illegal.

Manual ECU from the engine donor.

I've noticed with auto-manual converted bmw's that the revs hang for nearly a second when you depress the clutch pedal (I.e doing 3k rpm, press clutch in to change gear, revs will hang at 3krpm for a bit before dropping as opposed to dropping immediately when clutch is depressed). A recommended fix is to drop a socket (not one you need!) into the Idle control valve to restrict the amount of airflow going through it. This thread: http://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?1903183-Rev-hang-fix-workaround-finally! has a good explanation.

Manual conversion does NOT require certification when using factory parts.
-
Yeah it wasn't an expansion tank leak. radiator was leaking and heater control valve not opening. All parts replaced.
-
Seems to be sorted, yup. Ray was very good about it. Faulty Heater control valve, wouldn't open causing over pressurization. Not certified, no.
-
Yup 18's Car sits very nicely on them, very happy. Going with a slightly narrower tyre but will add 10mm spacers to all 4 corners to make it perfect. Thanks Kyu! Knew you'd done it on the e91, looks great. Now I need M3 mirrors, and gloss black kidney grilles.

Much better. Edit: what's best way to tint clear part of tail-lights red? Any spray can stuff?

My M coupe shifter does the same thing (tilt). Supposedly a fault with some of the pins that hold the shifter and is fairly common - I like it personally as the shifter is closer, also doesn't seem to have any negative effect whatsoever, the shifter in my car is the tightest one with I've ever felt, also has a ridiculously short throw.

Welcome. BM Workshop or Bellars Motor Works for servicing. Enjoy, e60's are nice.
-
LM reps to replace the CH reps. Will update project thread tomorrow when car has had a clean. Looks much more in line with how I envisioned it now.
-
Absolutely rooted. Just got new (to me) wheels but the tyres are in poor shape, won't be driving the car until I get new ones.

Hey all, after a staggered set of 18" tyres Currently running: 225/40/r18 255/35/r18 Preferably want: 225/35/r18 x2 235/40/r18 x2 Basically anything that will fit and not rub. Don't mind 2nd hand - as long as they have 3-4+mm of tread. Happy to buy pairs separately from people if available. Thanks

e9x m3 is just outside of your pricerange but a 1m is within it? What world are you living in? 1m's are 2x the value of an e92 m3 AFAIK, but for resale purposes would easily be the best choice. in 5 years they'll probably have doubled in price.
