Is This Where The E30 Market Is Now..?

E30 M3 price trend in the last 5 years. My brother in law is quite tempted by the yellow one. But it looks like a money pit. Might as well spend the extra on a good one. -

Thanks mate. I think COVID and Ukraine crisis has plateaued a lot of classic car prices. I may be pushing it for $45k. But it’s given me a rough figure if I have to sell it. It will more out of desperation if I do ever sell it. Might even take it to Auz with me. -

How much would a NZ new Mtech 1 be worth in a current market? 242xxxkms Diamond Schwarz 15" Basket weaves + 16" BBS reps No rust. Leather interior (not original obviously) 370mm mtech steering wheel Dash is not cracked Supersprint muffer with unkown brand headers -
G'day, Selling my 2004 Facelift 330ci M sport. DDY480 VIN: WBABD52020PM09452 Lots of good options, too many to list. 137000kms on the clock. Very unique colour combo and interior trim and it's come off a production line in Germany. Previous owner owned it for 10 years and has a service stamp from BMW Germany (was apparently used as a display car). I have owned it since August last year but unfortunately I have to sell it as I am moving to Australia in May and I will be unable to take the car with me (need to own it for a year at least). The car is in good mechanical condition minus a couple of small bits - Left front headlight washer has a leak (very common issue). Right front Fog light has a crack - I have a replacement fog light available which I will include in the sale. Right rear bump stop is worn. Cosmetically - the bonnet is faded, front bumper has a few stone chips and theres a small dent most likely from a supermarket trolley or a tow bar ball. Rear window outer rubber trim needs replacing ( I have the replacement trim available and included in the sale). I serviced the car myself in September last year (Liqui Moly oil, oil filter and cabin air filter change). I also installed a K&N panel filter. Comes with two keys and service books. I am asking $8000 firm for bimmersport members. SMS me on 021 1804565 or send me a pm on this forum.

Which stealer bought it? Will probably see it again in a month with a price tag of $60k I reckon.

I did see the errors. I have a friend who lives in Dubai who has bought a car off the company. But who’s to say that he may have a couple of legit deals and some dodgy ones? But if I did live in Dubai - I would have pursued this further. -

I think the NZ market is definitely inflated. E30 M3s sitting at $100k going nowhere. Meanwhile in Dubai https://www.dubicars.com/1992-bmw-m3-current-location-japan-455013.html 150,000 AED is about $60,000 NZD for an E30 M3 with 56000kms. -
Looks like the same dealer that was selling the white one.

I have had a similar issues with BM workshop. I have had the E28 come back from service with missing bolts, only to find them somewhere else in the engine bay. Never went there again. My sister took her F20 328i there for a service - got quoted $950 to replace the rear pads and rotors. She decided to take it to AA down the road instead - got charged $600 for the same job. Best part is AA got the parts from BM workshop.

I think so too. But the demand is still there and will be in the future. I get plenty of young people (in their teens and early 20s and even kids) ogling at the E30 and E28 on a regular basis. So when these people hit their 30s and 40s and have some disposable income… but I am speculating. I think that silver Mt1 one was a steal at $46k. Even if the dealer now sells it for $56k, that’s still a decent profit. -
Nope. Not mine. But it’s a mint example and I mean as good as it gets in NZ. Low kms too.

He is advertising it as a 318is. That’s false advertising. No different to someone putting M3 badges on their car and advertising it as one. edit: got changed after I asked the question. -

Bimmer work or mdecoder is what I usually use. Bimmerwork is showing it as a genuine Mtech car - option 708 and 709. Along with 209 option for LSD. -

All about the demand I guess. From classic cars to property values in certain suburbs in Auckland and rest of NZ. -
Hahaha, I will be on your team.

Yep I refused a $20k offer. I didn’t even entertain any overseas buyers but had a couple from Aus and Hong Kong. If it came down to it, I will sell the E30 before the E28. The E30s are more in demand and I am more attached to my E28 due to sentimental reasons. I think this specimen is worth $25-28kish. But the dealer needs to take some better pics. If I were to buy this (I am trying really hard to convince my Brother in law to get this) I would put some gold BBS wheels with wider stance at the back, upgrade the suspension and brakes and some subtle M stripes to give it that proper 80s racing look. They are absolutely fabulous cars to drive especially with that M30 engine. With some suspension upgrade and some better brakes, they handle well. It’s just that the demand is not there as most people that are wanting an E30 haven’t driven these or the E24 version. Even the E34 is lagging way behind but at least the 540is would probably be doing well now. Edit: here’s mine being used as a wedding car as requested by my sister. and a white one in Au I think.

Seriously! I would rather take out my Kiwi saver and invest in a classic BMW, enjoy it while and till I can drive it. It would probably work out to be a better investment long term too.

Wasn’t this for sale in Hawkes bay for $45kish around 2018/2019?
