  1. A leather key ring. Edit: two e36's and a covered S50B32 and box sitting on pallets in my garage. Though i am a bit of a Ferrari nut and have loads of Ferrari gear...but would never wear any of it unless i was at the F1...It did help that i worked for Phillip Morris and we got so much promotional material at some points!
  2. Love it...Tequila and porn(the bad kind)
  3. Thank god!!! I just spent 12 hundy yesterday putting 235 on my 9' wide rims...was so close to going with 225's
  4. How does this work?? i tried it and first did a list search then a gallery and the number of auctions changed!
  5. I'm keen on going in for a couple of sets when you guys get yours... I talked to a mate of mine (whos a cop) about this but he had no idea, i think it's not so common down here...OR the popo are just behind on the times
  6. Yep you are certainly right, the EJ25's along the board are notorious for Head gaskets and standard subaru problem Cambelt...which can cost a mint to replace because of the boxer! You don't think Subbys can drift/skid, have a youtube search and you may find yourself eating those words. I had a 94GT wagon converted to rear wheel drive that could rip the tarmac at burnout comps and a mate in his sedan that could get all 4 going! Subarus that have not been well maintained and serviced (like all cars) are notorious for costing big $ to fix, mainly because of the cramped engine bay and boxer engine's making normal, easy things...hard! there are still plenty out there that have been well looked after and not thrashed...though you should look at some basic GTs, GTB's as fuel consumption is not much different from the 250ts plus you have the balls when you want to get home a little earlier. Watch the manual gearbox as they are reknowned for getting very long(and drivable) before the pressure plate goes.
  7. what sort of price on 225 or 235/40/18's. cheers
  8. Cheers Mark. Anyone know any other standard type issues with these...how easy parts, panels etc etc
  9. The older magnetic speedo's tend to weaken over time, what could be your problem! If i were you i'd borrow a gps off someone and then measure yourself on a straight flat road at 100kmh, then adjust your speed accordingly...those signs that say how fast you are going are ok but again can be out by a few kms or replace/check speedo/cable etc
  10. I'm an ex Subaru man, so used to those sorts of things just like the idea of a high performance Bimmer wagon, Diffs, balljoints and shafts will probably all be issues with the system...still
  11. Anyone know reliability with the BMW 4wd systems...i'm very keen on this. 5 Series 4wd S50 wagon...i like the sound of that!
  12. Thats the trouble, I do!! the other non OEM ones on previously (PBR Axis) only needed cleaned because of dust...maybe once a fortnight, compared to the new genuine BMW ones that need cleaned every 2-3 days...In some cases and my opinion, i don't think genuine or OEM ones are always the best option...for me anyway!
  13. I have to disagree, the OEM ones i have on the 318 creates probably double the amount of dust!

    World Cup

Argentina or England to take it this time...put a dirty hundy on NZ to make the finals so digits crossed!
  15. Sorry for the noob question guys but why did you need to get a cert for factory wheel size? I have never heard of having to get rims certed w/o spacers or has changed the height etc

    E36 318IS

Some better and clearer pics would be good, interior, engine bay etc
  17. Wow!!! Beautiful 36 love the rims...Welcome to Bimmersport mate, plenty of info and guys with goods here.
  18. Good you have learn't your lesson(and hopefully you have) at a young age, some never do!! and i'm sure there are many stories like yours that others have as well.
  19. Like the officer last year who got taken back to the station after breathing a positive result, and asking to go to the toilet then ""slipped"" and banged his head on the toilet. then having to go to hospital which there was some loop hole surrounding that...can't remember everything exactly, but will do a G search!
  20. Sorry a little OT but while on the subject of e36 petrol light, my partner runs her right down to nearly the 'E' before filling it up...does the 318is have a reserve that goes below the 'E' like other cars or does 'E' mean it's spent? I managed to get 5kms on almost empty to a service station on my way to Rugby training on thur night...and was listening for the cough every single second of that trip
  21. I find that very hard to believe that a judge would let someone off on a 13-14th charge of DIC, or more disgusted that a judge would let someone off, perhaps the judge thought "Thistime he'll give up" Sorry i meant i can't see ANY grey area in a DIC charge! either you are over the legal limit and have broken the law or you are not and have not broken the law.
  22. I don't know the exact specifics of legally drinking and driving...2 beers the first hour 1 every hour after that or something like that? Though i'm sure there will be times that people have gone to a bbq or a dinner had a few beers or wines and been over the limit or others who have a higher/lower tolerance to alcohol and could be a genuine fcuk up! One strike and out seems too much of a police state type scenario to me. Where do you see a grey area in this case Peter? imo like Glenn said there is a wrong side and a right side, just because he is a police man doesn't give him any right to a grey area...
  23. Agree but think a one warning policy then jail would be a better option for those who genuinely do a mistake...second the island part but think the Chathams would make more sense seeing as the bulk population is up north!
  24. Yeah, i read that this morning too and thought how riddiculous it is! He should have lost his job, like others who drive for a living do when they get done for DIC. Yeah yeah could have been a first time offence blah blah blah but practise what you preach i reckon!!
