I've always loved the sound of Subarus so a EJ20T/TT or if a EJ257 was available i'd stick that in...though seeing as i already have an S50 I would definitely put that in!!

From the long chemical analysis Nath said, No But i still think the vasoline would be worth a nudge, like i said he uses this on very expensive classics so the only risk i can see is dust and vasoline everywhere!

Areas to clean when your bored or have time.

Excellent job, looks really good -
Off the top of my head i had to replace a wing mirror at approx $300 and rear bumper $7-800 all second hand and the black lip trim on bodykit was always coming off, it was mainly small mechanical things that all $$$ed up and has put me off them. So i guess in the bmw ball park(parts wise) but EVERY wof having to spend a few hundy and running cost's...

Still looks shiny as hell and no i can't really distinguish the diff with the dusky light that it is Blue...could be blind though lol

A friend of mine restores old 50's-70's muscles, and i saw at his workshop a dashboard covered in vasoline...he told me that the best thing he has found is thickly smearing petroleum jelly on the tired(not broken) dash and trim and leaving it there for a while...in his case a month-two then cleaning it off and hand polishing before using armour all or other trim care products a few days later. Don't know if it works well, but he deals with 50-100k customs so can't be too bad.

The only aftermarket parts i had were a Pod filter/Cold air box, king springs, 3' muffler and i could not find at the time ANY aftermarket rims, so bought some 2nd hand 17x8 Volvo rims and put lower profile tyres on and imo looked dropped standard good.

Agree, I love the Volvo Estates that raced in the BTCC which is why i bought the 850...still cost a sh!tload to maintain and run though!

E30 320i Now for sale. relisted at $1 RES

I know exactly what you mean! My hands were tied for several years (toy wise) for the same reason...but have slowly caught back up now, that i don't end up in the dog box for 'looking' on Trade me. I'm crossing my fingers that it's still there (not that i don't want you to sell it haha) From what i can see it looks very tidy and main thing for me is the body!!! As i'm planning on an S50 Z4 conversion this could be ideal! Good luck for the sale but i have my fingers crossed lol. -
God i wish my BMW was black!!! just can't get that shine with schwartz...

I used to have a 95 850 touring wagon and the parts were horendous to buy!! Most had to be brought in from Australia/UK and it seemed every WOF i was throwing $$ at it... I will most likely never own a Volvo again, though i still liked the shape and it did look good dropped on fat rims. Imo you'd be better with a Toyota daily and then throw your spare change at the E30.

Welcome to bimmersport dude, nice looking 36!!

For some strange reason i think the M3's look better on the front than the back! imo the Ac's do look good.

oops, sorry i meant i'm doing a s50 transplant so don't really want to spend the money on adjustables when i'm still looking for a donor car (non e36) otherwise as you said an m3 would be sooo much more sensible...but i'm planning on e28/e30 rebuild! -
Or a burst line

They can be pedantic about anything that is not legal, if they want! A friend of mine was an assessor and he would get bonus' on how many false insurance claims he could find and told me that most would be small WOF and COF issues that were not legal.
-
The problem imo is, that because SOME places allow it and if it is technically illegal/non wof standard than it would make your insurance void...and again, imo for a sticker, way too much risk!

I wouldnt have thought a 50mm drop would have been that much of an issue, and you are right 318...not alot of B@lls but still can step out in the auto. How about if i replaced all springs at same rates and just dropped the front 30-50mm, perhaps adjusties might be the way to go(just don't know if i wanna spend that kind of $ with the s50 transplant coming up soon) -
Check this thread out! It has everything you need to change it, shouldn't take more than 30mins for the first time. http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....6&hl=filter

This thread's HOF material!! Can't believe how huge it's got over past few days. :thumb:

Hey guys, I wanna drop the 36 but really dont like the fact that the rear wheel drops so far into the guard, can i drop the front the 50mm i would like it to be without messing with the rears or can i replace the rears with the same rated springs?? Just not sure on legalities! Cheers

My old man had his work vans windows partially covered and they failed a WOF (something about a certain % needs to be visable out of) though you can cover the whole rear window and pass a warrant...sounds weird to me. Was gonna say 80's F1 Lotus too.
