  1. The real thing in Seatoun this arvo. Estoril blue is such a nice colour.
  2. As a follow up to this - the 335d had a spirited outing up the Remutaka Hill this morning. Xdrive is just awesome with a slightly damp road, there’s a little rear end shimmy and then it just shuffles the torque to the front and grips. Initially I’d wished they still made a rear drive 335d and had second thoughts about getting a 340i instead but now I think the xdrive + diesel torque is the perfect combo
  3. A white 340i touring in Kelburn - I think @340iMPT?
  4. Thought you might be able to come up with the exact numbers Jon! How many F31 335i's were sold here? I've only seen 3, manual EBII and two auto's, one blue and one black.
  5. Not an insignificant number, mainly pre-facelift ones. I've seen probably 8-10 come up for sale in last 12 months. They were the highest performance wagon til they brought in the 340i in 2017 (apart from a handful of special order 335i tourers)
  6. not horrible by any means. just the straight 6 has more refinement / less clatter compared to the diesel 4cyl
  7. I believe the E90 335d used the M57 all the way through, whereas the 330d changed to the N57 around facelift. Still a nice engine but fairly old tech now
  8. Great engine (in my relatively brief experience). I've got the Z (twin-turbo) version in my 335d xdrive - I doubt the combination of economy and performance on offer can be beaten without an EV. I too am a bit skeptical of 32k / 2 year service intervals so changing the oil every 15k km or so. Edit: also be aware that pre-September 2015 engines are included in the EGR cooler recall
  9. Nice looking car Phil - is that Monacoblau? Ebay is probably your best bet for an original owners manual - it looks as though the coupe and convertible used the same one. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-3-SERIES-COUPE-CONVERTIBLE-HANDBOOK-OWNERS-MANUAL-2009-2011/163635512422?hash=item26196fc466:g:0agAAOSwe7ZcQKv2
  10. Commiserations - the 218i is a slight downgrade ?
  11. I feel this too. I also really like the idea of a non REX i3 but no doubt RUC’s will be along shortly to spoil that particular party and the 25k gap to a similarly specced 118i buys a fair bit of gas and servicing.
  12. Odd spec on that 125i - big brakes, big wheels, fancy dash but shitty halogen headlights. I've also been looking at them for a daily driver. The 118i with the 3-pot actually is surprisingly peppy - though a bit less than 500hp worth of v10 i'd wager
  13. @BlackrazorNZ it looks rapid but pretty homogenous c.f. the other German marques hot hatches (A45 / Golf R). At least the RS3 still has the 2.5T 5cyl in it for now. Seems the Germans all want to emulate each other as much as possible (A3 sedan / CLA class / 2 series Gran Coupe) and now this. A bit of individuality wouldn't go amiss...
  14. The pictures speak for themselves with this one. Plenty of dollars spent, but not much sense.
  15. Looks like it's from Singapore? so maybe multiply that by 5 to get the price in SGD
  16. Are you BP's best customer with that fleet?
  17. The other cars around that particular house included a C63 AMG sedan and a nice early 90's Merc 250TE estate as well. Good taste in cars
  18. Nice green 525ix E34 touring!
  19. It's nice and clean, courtesy of a service from Winger BMW so thought I'd add another pic
  20. Hi Sven - I had a similar issue after unplugging my aircon unit to remove a Dension system. I took it to @HELLBM who cleared a bunch of codes (I think caused by unplugging things with the battery connected) and it then ran fine.
  21. Diesel 3 series in your price range will be fairly high km E91 320d - not inherently a problem as the N47 is pretty strong but there are reports of timing chains shitting the bed which is an engine out ($$$) replacement job. You should be able to find a nice pre-facelift 325i touring (2006-2008) which has the N52 engine, price is similar to a 525i probably but the 3 series are a bit more involving to drive
  22. The advantage of the Sytner one is that if you wanted to, you could keep it under BMW Warranty forever. Surprises me there isn't an NZ equivalent given there seem to be a lot of people with aftermarket warranties.
