I suspect you could get into the 4’s on the open road with a rear drive f30 320d with the 8 speed zf box. Best I’ve seen in my 335d xdrive touring is 5.2l/100k driving sedately Hamilton - Auckland
-
Yep - that'd do nicely. A factory supported one would be even better. Surely they've seen Audi and Mercedes sell enough RS4/C63 wagons to take a chance on the touring body.

Buying e90 320i - Anything to look out for?

The older engines (M47) should be capable of 6l/100km on open road - not great on short / round town journeys though. -
The 4 series Gran Coupe is substantially better looking than the 3 series Gran Turismo version. Praise the lord that BMW have dumped that particular iteration for the next gen 3 series.

The pre-facelift ones with the M47 have swirl flaps, blanking kits readily available. Timing chain issues reported on (a small minority) of the facelift N47 engine. N=1 but dad's had no mechanical problems in 220k kms on his 320d. -
Can't say I disagree about ceramics on a road car but I personally would much prefer a sedan (or even better a touring...hint hint BMW) for my practical but fast everyday car

like the alcantara steering wheel. the two tone trim is ? though

There are also millions of them (N47 in particular) in circulation. The issues are certainly less than the N46. They probably don't like excessive service intervals though... -

This. Fuel consumption not amazing either. -
As of yesterday, Winger BMW says no active recall on my March 2016 production 335d Xdrive touring. Looks like it would be included in the recall in the UK...
-
Whether we'd see in NZ might be another issue. Although we got the 340i touring here whereas the 330i was the top touring model in Australia so I guess there's hope.
-
Not what those of us who like tourings want to hear!
-
Got the impression that neither the E34 nor the E61 M5 touring were a commercial success. I reckon an Alpina B5 touring would be amazing though.
-
Not sure that it would be my choice for 176k but it's a nice colour nonetheless. https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-1831653935.htm?rsqid=17fe6d637bbb40e4bac4eafc95190d60

That one is prob 4wd based on ride height / double rear pipes? (M135i xdrive??). Interestingly the current f20 generation is available in a proper (i.e. rear biased rather than front biased) xdrive in the UK in RHD Still valid points though.

Pretty sure Alpina doesn't replace the boot roundel with an Alpina logo. Keen to see more pics though, they are rare as rocking horse poo in NZ.

31 335D tourings by my calculations. Only 6 pre-LCI ones though. Black is the most popular colour...
-
interesting database that one. going to have to figure out how many 335d tourings there are in the country when I get a chance
-
Assume that diesels in NZ will be recalled too (eventually) https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/bmw-recalls-268000-diesel-models-uk-over-fire-risk

not sure if I'd consider buying an e60 from that dealer, service history absent on most of their vehicles...
-
easy to spend another 24k when the big end bearings sh*t the bed. not sure that e60 m5 is ever going to acquire classic status.

Wellington Drivers - I am hoping you can help.

The road from the bottom of Makara hill (Makara side) to the beach turn off is pretty rough and I think a 70kph limit? -
good spotting. supposed to have gold Style 666M on it. That explains the Nexens then I guess...

May have been a hard 6000k then
