Thinking of selling the plates too?

Number plate is rather terrible too.. I reckon standard issue ones will suit it more

Anyone have experience with the N57 engines?
sobanoodle replied to Driftit's topic in General Discussion
I was seriously considering a 335i/d F31 but there were none for sale. Not a single 535d F11 either. That was a year ago, not much changed since then. -

From my own experience with both N55 and N57: 535i F11 - a $100 in petrol would last me about a week, standard daily "city - over the bridge - city" commute with an occasional out of town trip. Or $200 in two weeks. 640D F06 - a $100 in diesel (full tank is actually $90 something) will last me just over two weeks for the same commute. That's about 800km of travels per tank. URC is $0.06 per km or about $48 per tank in my case. $148 in two weeks. -
Spent a couple of hours making her look pretty. Took a photo of her sitting there looking rather pretty.

Have had my N57D30T1 for almost a year now and done close to 15k. Absolutely love it and take it any day over a N55 (had one of those for almost a year too). Pulls like a freight train yet consumes only 5.5-6L on an open road. Central Auckland only is around 9L if you push it around a bit. There is a number of variations of N57 though and as I understand it not all N57 are the same in terms of reliability. -
Took me 15min all up to do the initial flash (8HP) Tells you exactly how long it is going to take.
-
F-series only. Carly is more like it.
-
Got a recall letter for mine too. From what I've read on overseas forums this might be a lengthy process if they do not have parts in stock.

Found it, https://www.autodoc.de Can also do https://www.autodoc.co.uk/ slightly more expensive due to exchange rate differences , EUR vs GBP. Around $1,200 landed in Auckland before GST (no duties for carparts) Plus GST etc: NZ$1,500 all up.

I had a B12 Pro kit imported from Germany. Did heaps of searching and finally found a place that offered VAT free for out of Europe shipments. Will search through my emails now.

Where do these hide? Dynamic drive defaults in particular? Some screenshots would be handy.

I know, that's why I will not attempt to flash the whole car at once. PS: did you sell your power supply on facebook? Pretty sure I saw the same unit for sale a while back, not surprisingly euro surgeon were quick to take it.
-
I flashed MHD tune without any power supply/charger at all. But, I knew my battery was healthy and charged. I also flashed CIC (about 30min) and EGS (5min but takes a bit of prep for Alpina flash) the same way.
-
Don't really want to spend money on something that'll be only used once or twice. Thank you for the offer, from what I've read I need at least 50A power supply for an F-series. Would suck massively if the car goes to sleep mid process...

Rant and feedback request - BMW Part Prices

Care to share where from? -
I was looking for a power supply too without much luck. Wanted to borrow one so I can update my i-step, seems like a much safer option is to just pay a workshop to do it (~$200).

Withdrawn by TM now. Must've been something fishy going on.

Yeah, XS2545 - the ones that are supposed to be on the red 430. There's also a taped off badge, guessing it has 430 on it too
-
Saw it on Jervois rd on Waitangi day. A young couple rocked into Dear Jervois in style (and Nike flip-flops).

Damn I was expecting a bit of a monster that you wouldn't let off-leash easily
-
There is actually one half way up Mt. Eden, two in fact. Grey Lynn park is also off-leash, not caged though.
-
I found Meola reef to be a bit rough (a couple of years back, never been back since) - lots of crap everywhere, not so friendly/well behaved dogs etc. Waiatarua is a much more safer and pleasant place. Have you tried St Leonards beach? Off-leash year round but very much tide dependent, has to be a low tide.

Illegal to fit normal tyres after run-flat??
sobanoodle replied to SteveArmy90's topic in Wheels & Tyres
Had no issues converting mine at an independent Tyre shop. No questions asked, very good price too. I have to admit though the car feels noticeable softer in corners, probably the only positive thing about runflats...
