Yeah I've got one and matching 6 speed box, saving for a rainy day (unless someone wants to put up a decent offer, then I'll let it go)
-
4.4 with rowdy cams would be the go I reckon.always going to be easier to make more power with more displacement

I was gonna do something similar, was worried about breaking axles though. I'm running a 3.64, g240 so has over drive fifth gear. I'd have to check data logs but I'm hoping it would be over 200 clicks down hamptons

Do you have a lower rev limiter set for launch or are you sitting on the main limiter? I want to try it but I'm scared something will break.

Here we go again with cops and their conclusions

I'm also led to believe Swedish girls are much better looking. They also have many crazy turbo bmws. -
Yeah it sucks, then another 1500 or so top have it rebuilt and upgraded.

You'll get sick of spinning the inside wheel out of corners pretty quick with an open diff. Are you talking about the chinese copys of a torsen diff?

A little on the bottom side of the oil cap is normal if the car dosent get its oil up to temp regularly enough, small amounts of water in the oil evaporate and accumulate up around the cap.

Seen a few crashes, some serious ones over the last few months, and the difference between going 100kph or 120kph would of prevented none of them. -

That was interesting, just read the motorcycle crash data. I assume car data is similar in the way that it's always the drivers fault (or another driver). Road conditions aren't considered at all. The crash I saw happen the other week that involved 3 motorcyclists go off the road would probably come under "motorcyclist veered off road / lost control" no mention of or taking into account the tar bleed and gravel all over the road mid corner on a blind corner. -

Can't see it been speed, everyone's been doing 80kph for the last two months. -
Could it be to do with the two different tank setups?
-
Factory system should have enough flow for an m30. I'm running factory 318i setup on the turbo and it keeps up. Only problem is fuel surge on the track when gets under half a tank.

Yeah codes aren't helpful, you need live data. -
Pistons, crank etc will be fine. Put another head in it, even a b25 head will do the job. Looks like the head of a head bolt snapped off?

If cam and crank signals were out of phase it would consistently throw errors. You could check this with a dual channel scope at the ecu end, this would eliminate any wiring loom issues as well. Decent live data and a brain could give similar results. Your obviously chasing your tail here and spending a lot of coin at the same time. -

Easy way to prove if that is the problem or not is to remove the fuel cap and see if the problem goes away. -

It was on the road from waihi to whangamata wasn't it? Not many places to pass there. -
I found it mildly amusing

Police are trying to prosecute the council, but they are doubtful it will get far.

I was part of the group of motorcyclists that went off the road near tokoroa on boxing day. I made it through the corner, but 2 friends and dad didn't. Gravel had been dropped mid corner in an attempt to fix tar bleed, so 3 bikes ended up in the water table and dad still in hospital. The bikes just dissapeared from under them with no chance. Police were pissed off as 3 people had died a few days before on the same roads for similar reasons.

Councils thinking it's OK to just drop gravel/chip on top of tar bleed and wait for the trucks to mash it in as a cheap fix.
