Rev limit on the turbo is 7200, and another friends revs his b28 to 7200 as well for the last 5+ years, no problems.

I had a 328 do this, thought it had snapped a can chain so pulled valve cover off and checked and everything was alright. Put it back together and it started first time. No idea what was wrong with it, never did it again

Had one of those in the turbo and smoked it on 5 psi.... Got one built at waikato brake and clutch, holds 13~ psi fine, and cheaper than the D1 racing setup.

Not sure its worth buying an e34 for the parts, you're only after the sump, oil pickup and throttle cable. Considered doing an m52 instead? -
nah, keeping it. will build an adaptor after I decide what box I want to go with. unless I find a cheap BMW one in the mean time
