a brand new motor & gearbox ex. germany? wow. that must have been big $
-
same shoes look to be $80 - $100 through a trademe store.
-
I have used similar puma shoes for both track & road and they are actually excellent driving shoes. (not great for long walks however). Not sure if the BMW logo cut's down your lap times however. note: at a recent event the marshal's were cracking down on the use of these shoes over proper FIA approved fire retardant boots. all depends how much you value your toes.

agreed looks very nice. what's with all the "selling on behalf" trademe ads these days?
-
he'll probably tell trade me you pulled out to get his $ back.
-
I, like many others, would run scared of a high mileage cheap E60 M5.
-
report him to trade me. see if you can get the flights changed or refunded. small claims court for the flights cost if you can't. (not sure the flight cost but lodging the claim costs $140) when he doesn't show at your local court, there will be a ruling in your favour. but I'd say trademe will be taking a stern line on this type of action.

love the ad. GLWTS

love the comments: JC • 17 hours agoDid it make it through the ski bag pass through? BTW, does anyone else wish the ski bag pass through fit a regular-sized snowboard as well? Mark • 3 hours agoGives "rides on rails" a whole new meaning.

I read an article awhile back that Police were taking a dimm line on this and requesting the plates be cancelled.
-
with AUS laws I'd be surprised if this could be anything but a show or dedicated racecar. certainly would be a PITA to get road legal
-
The answer is you were VERY empty. Anything over the 70 is reserve fuel. Real size is probably alittle over 70 but quoted as 70 in the spec.
-
Sure, yeah interested to know. I believe the tank in the E39 is 70 litres. It's def not 80.
-
It depends on where I'm heading obviously. But usual driving (ie - I overtake ALOT) I get 430 - 480 per tank. open road. worst around town.
-
well good luck to you Dave. BTW - I don't believe for a second the E60 is more fuel efficient than the E39. 350 from your E39 is low.
-
WTF? I thought you wanted something less thirsty?

this is pretty much my path also. I buy OEM or better parts & import them myself. Take them down to the my local BMW dealer for installation. Everything is handbook service. The BMW service department, to their credit, are actually pretty cool with me doing this. I'll be picking up that overhaul package later this year.
-
$800 USD for a complete overhaul package? http://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-14418-complete-cooling-system-overhaul-package-2000-2003-e39-m5.aspx

well it's a pretty cool looking toy. I wish you well with your journey.

I feel for you mate. Over the last 3 years of my GTR ownership it was in my garage & running for all of about 10 days. During my ownership I replaced pretty much everything bar the suspension and body. Somethings several times over. I threw in the towel after the engine went for the 3rd time. Couldn't live through a 4th rebuild. I'd hate to think what it cost me per km. At least yours will come back, and will probably give years of loyal service to repay your perseverance!
-
this is pretty much my thinking. I couldn't get anything close to the grin factor my M5 gives me for what I could sell it for. So I'm not. Nothing's wrong with it. Preventative maintenance is the key. Every year (besides normal services) I undertake a new project to upgrade or replace something that I know might be an issue in the future. This year is a new cooling system. Oh. And it's not a $200k car to service. Seriously. It's not that bad as long as you have a good base to start with.
